Milan started pre-season with an easy win, and some of the new faces played.

The Rossoneri are getting ready for the start of the 2023/24 season, and yesterday (Thursday) they had their first summer friendly, taking on Lumezzane who last year achieved promotion to the Lega Pro.

The game lasted just over 66 minutes, and Stefano Pioli started it with a 4-3-3 formation, using a midfield of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rade Krunić and Tommaso Pobega, and an attack of Junior Messias, Lorenzo Colombo and Christian Pulisic.

After 3 minutes, Pulisic already hit the post and by the 5′ minute he provided his first assist, passing to Pobega who was inside the box and scored. In the 16′ minute, Pobega scored again – and it was yet another Pulisic assist from the left wing. In the 17′ minute, Messias scored a goal, and less than 3 minutes later, Colombo took advantage of a mistake in the Lumezzane defense to beat goalkeeper Stefano Filigheddu and make it 4-0.

Luka Romero came on in the second half and in the 40′ minute he assisted Colombo’s second goal. In the 65′ minute, Romero scored a goal of his own, as he found the net from the penalty spot. In the 66′ minute, with the final whistle, Kevin Zeroli headed the ball to the back of the net to make it 7-0.

A good outing for the Rossoneri, who were missing many of the starters who had just returned to training a day prior to the match. Now Milan head to the United States for a series of friendlies.
