Reports: Milan consider Taremi and Isaksen as affordable alternatives for Morata and Chukwueze

Milan are looking at different profiles as they want to get a new right winger and a new striker.

Pre-season starts in two days and on July 10th, Stefano Pioli will find his players back at Milanello to begin work.

The squad of Pioli, however, is not yet complete and the new management would like to provide the coach with more reinforcements after signing Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Romero and Christian Pulisic.

Tijjani Reijnders is wanted for midfield, but Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani also want to bring a new striker and a new right winger.

After missing out on Marcus Thuram, who chose to join Inter as a free agent, Milan have been linked with a host of names. One of their biggest targets, according to Milannews.it, Sky, La Gazzetta dello Sport and others, is Álvaro Morata of Atlético de Madrid.

As reported by Antonio Vitiello, however, the costs of bringing Morata to Milan would be quite high. The player has a €20m release clause which would have to be paid to bring him and also has a high salary. The Rossoneri would also not be able to use the Decreto Crescita, a tax break which allows paying higher net salaries for foreigners, as Morata has not been away from Italy for the required 2 years, having still played for Juventus in 2021/22.

Due to the problems with Morata, Milan are looking at alternatives and Vitiello joins the report of La Gazzetta dello Sport from this morning in suggesting the name of Porto’s Mehdi Taremi. The 30-year-old has a contract expiring in 2024 and could therefore be more affordable than Morata. However, being Iranian, the striker would take up a non-EU position, which would exclude other non-EU players from joining the club this summer.

So if Milan were to sign Taremi, they would not be able to sign Daichi Kamada as a free agent or Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal. Chukwueze is seen as Milan’s biggest target for the right-winger role. However, talks with Villarreal are proving difficult and signing him would be costly.

Like with Morata, Milan are also following alternatives for Chukwueze, and Vitiello, along with Daniele Longo and Luca Bianchin, claims Gustav Isaksen, 22-year-old Danish right winger from Midtjylland, is being considered. Juventus are also said to be interested in the player, who scored 22 goals and made 9 assists in 45 games last season in all competitions.

The transfer market is still long but the intentions of Milan are clear: they want at least one more midfielder, and at least two more additions in attack between right-winger and central striker.

Zero Ambition owners. This is gonna be tough

You could expect Maldini and Masara to be fired, like Boban they were a bit too honest in their statements. However, in the winter mercato, we could’ve been Serie A winners and CL finalists if this Porco had made the investment needed.

Messias and Krunic who I love cannot play UCL Semis.

We cannot reach a final with the budget of Monza.

For those who keep defending this mess, this is not normal. The Chinese administration spent 200 in a season in order to rebuild this team. We spent 5 years criticizing them, look at us now.

I don’t think they’ll spend 20 millions on 30 year old Taremi who’s in last year of contract while sacrificing last non EU spot. In that case Dia is a lot more affordable and suited to Serie A. Retegui is also another exciting name imo.
