Milan have been drawn against Napoli; the winner of this tie will face Inter or Benfica in the semi-finals.

The Rossoneri returned to the quarterfinals of the Champions League this season after 11 years away from this position and today they’ve learned who they will be facing next month for a ticket for the semi-finals of the competition.

The draw took place today (Friday) in Nyon, Switzerland, and Milan, represented by Franco Baresi and Daniele Massaro, found out that they will be facing Napoli.

The first leg will take place on April 12 at Stadio San Siro and the 2nd leg will be on April 18 at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Luciano Spalletti’s side is having a sensational season, as they lead Serie A by 18 points and are considered by many to be the best team in Europe this season.

The Diavolo ‘avoided’ clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City and can only face one of them in the final of the competition, since the draw indicated that in the semi-final, it will be one of Milan and Napoli against one of Inter and Benfica. This means that there is a strong chance for an Italian team to be in the Champions League final this season, for the first time since 2016-17.

@ChampionsLeague on Twitter

Director of Sport Frederic Massara had this to say about the draw:“We are among the best eight sides in Europe and the games and teams in the quarter-finals are all of the highest level. It’ll be a very exciting game against Napoli, one that we’ll go into with confidence, and we’ll have to play exceptionally well.

“Three games in 20 days won’t help, but it’ll be the same for both sides. We welcome this draw openly and hope to be part of two great games, because Milan and Napoli have both shown they are capable of playing top-class football”.

We will make it to the final ⚫

ForzaMilan

It’s time to take care of Inter and Napoli together for once in the current season and to show who’s the boss in UCL!

Raven

You’re damn right! Forza Milan

We should make it to the final….
Napoli is not unbeatable. Its better to play Napoli than facing inter this time.

Elliotazzuri

An Italian team must win this year ucl, for our league prestige and I believe we(Ac milan) have the best chance of beating bayern or Madrid

period….!

Familiar foes for us. It’s a good draw for italian teams. One thing we have going for us is the weight of our shirt. It seems like nothing but look at Madrid last year, they werent the best team, yet beat PSG, Chelsea and ManCity. It’s like they know the UCL is their thing. PSG and ManCity on the other hand get nervous and crumble. We have not been here in a while, but the UCL is also Milan’s thing. Who knows, maybe Napoli and or Inter/Benfica will also crumble under the lights. Just like Juve, their thing is the… Read more »

Is Stefano Pioli mad enough to think he can reach UCL Finals? Yes

Is AC Milan a team of young hungry stars? Yes

Is AC Milan in need of being a finalist? Yes

Is AC Milan mature enough to not crumble at this stage? Giroud, Zlatan says Yes.

Is AC Milan full of crazy people around the world saying Forza Milan? Yes

Can’t argue facts, we’ll probably end up winning the whole thing.

Jkn aside, it will be tough, Napoli is no pushover.

I hope Pioli has the cohoness to try CF CDK. Him in the centre while Leao and Giroud (mostly will be in the opposition’s penalty area) on “flanks”, we should be good to go. 3-4-1-2 in attack and 3-4-2-1 in defense.

Doable !

A very fair draw I just want us to seal the top 4 and Pioli should rotate the players well this is the best chance to get to the final Napoli might be good but trust me this is ucl it’s in our dna at this point Napoli as well will rotate their squad rest some key players because of the league advantage there have over orders, I just want everyone to put their best this last phase of the season

Raven

Milan has bigger squad and larger balls.

Milan were very lucky to draw Napoli. At least we will be facing a familiar foe. This doesn’t take away the fact that our team is the weakest in this stage of the competition, we will need both hard work and miracle to see us through to the semi

Gems

we can do this guys
this is a good draw
Forza milan
we outplayed them 1st round
before Pioli brought Dest on who had never played in serie a before
inter & Lazio have beaten them this season .
tomori will take Osimen out
magic Mike back
Leao due
theo & Giroud hitting decent form

Dos Santos

I believe Milan will go through to the semis and we will finally win our 8th UCL trophy.
