Zlatan Ibrahimović’s contract extension is now official, the club confirmed.
It’s been known for weeks now that Ibrahimović and Milan will continue together for at least one more year but the official announcement, as well as the actual signature on the contract, only came today – at Lago di Garda.
The official announcement on the website of the Rossoneri reads:
“Milan is pleased to announce the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimović’s contract until June 30, 2023. The Swedish forward will continue to wear the number 11 shirt.”
As reported by Milannews.it, Zlatan will earn €1-1.5 million next season in his new contract. The soon-to-be 41-year-old is currently recovering from knee surgery and is only expected to return to action in January.
Zlatan should be back at Milanello for his rehabilitation next month. This renewal is important for the Club and for Coach Stefano Pioli, who in his first press conference of pre-season said that he wants to find Ibra back at the training center as soon as possible.
The 2022/23 season will be Ibra’s 6th season in total with the Rossoneri, having rejoined the club in January 2020. He has won two Serie A title and will now aim for the 2nd star.
I pray may champion trophy medal be on your neck this season.
