Maignan, Calabria, Theo, Bennacer and Leão back training at Milanello, a friendly against Vicenza set for August

More Milan starters got back to Milanello today, as the Diavolo prepare for the first friendly against Vicenza.

Pre-season is in full swing and ahead of Saturday’s game against 1. FC Köln, coach Stefano Pioli welcomed more players back over the past two days of training.

Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria, Theo Hernández, Ismaël Bennacer and 2021/22 Serie A Player of the Season Rafael Leão are all back in training after finishing their vacations following international duty.

It’s difficult to believe that Maignan, Calabria, Theo, Bennacer and Rafa will be called-up for the Köln game. As reported by, Simon Kjær will skip the game as he’s still not 100%, but Olivier Giroud, who didn’t play in the Lemine Almenno Calcio for personal reasons, will be available.

Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that the last pre-season of the summer will take place on August 6 and will be against Vicenza; before that, Milan face Köln, Zalaegerszegi, Wolfsberger and Marseille.

The pace of our market is a major concern because it will be many times more difficult to defend the title against Juve and Inter this season after their strengthening. However, it is also right that Milan cannot pour money into players in risky deals in a way that EPL clubs can. Spot on Ink. Thanks. We’ll see how the mercato ends eventually for every team. Let’s not forget that those strengthening are also losing players, Juve especially. They have lost Dybala, likely Morata and De light also. Napoli lost Insigne and Koulibali. Inter lost Perisic who was a real threat for them last season. On paper for now, Inter are favorites but that’s just paper talk. We should be able to deal with them again. I hope CDK comes, if not, I know another capable player will be brought in. M&M always have a plan A,B,C. Adli could also step up… Read more »

We are spending wisely?
We haven’t spent a single euro bar making Florenzi and Messias permanent!

Coach Seedorf

We are spending wisely bro. Chelsea bought Lukaku 100mil and won nothing. We bought Giroud 1 mil and he won us the scudetto. Wasting cash does not guarantee success. We have strengthened already and are still working on it. Don’t forget we have only lost Kessie and Romagnoli this season but have added Adli, Pobega, Origi, Florenzi and Messias. CDK and others yet to join. In the past, we would sign 29years old Ziyech asap for 25mil but this management will never try that so my mind is off him except a miracle happens and Chelsea gives him to us… Read more »
