Samu Castillejo’s time at Milan has come to an end, as he joins Valencia for no transfer fee.

Castillejo joined Milan in the summer or 2018 for a reported €21.3m, but gradually lost his place in the project of the Rossoneri, spending the majority of the last campaign, in which the Rossoneri won the Scudetto, on the bench.

Samu has been out of the technical project of coach Pioli for a while, and now it seems that his time has finally ended. As reported by Milannews.it and Sky Italia, the Spaniard is set to join Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia.

Castillejo will join Valencia on a permanent transfer. The Rossoneri will not receive a transfer fee for the winger but according to Milannews.it, they will get bonuses based on certain objectives that are set in the contract. Samu has already greeted his teammates goodbye and left Milanello for good.

The 27-year-old should be back in Spain by tomorrow to start his new adventure. He’ll try to jump start his career under Rino; the two of course already worked together at Milan in the past.

Despite his ineffectiveness on the pitch, Samu has remained professional throughout his stay at Milan until this day.He has even had to endure some of the harshest criticism from some of the Milan faithfuls, yet he remained humble and ready and willing to be called upon.

Thank you Samu and may have success in the future.
