Milan would like to see the contract of Olivier Giroud extended and contacts have started with his entourage.
There’s little doubt over the fact that Oli G’s first season with the Rossoneri was a huge success as he played a big part in Milan winning their first league title in 11 years, even scoring a brace on the Scudetto-winning match against Sassuolo.
Giroud joined the club last summer from Chelsea on a two-year contract and it seems that there is desire to continue together for longer.
According to Milannews.it’s Antonio Vitiello, contacts have began between Olivier’s agents and Milan to discuss a renewal of the deal currently expiring on June 30, 2023. Giroud is seen by the club as a reliable option up top and also a leader in the dressing room.
Despite suffering from COVID and physical problems, especially at the start of the campaign, the Frenchman finished the season with 38 appearances and 14 goals to his name.
