The summer of Milan is ready to start as they aim for the 2nd star in 2022/23.

After a long and tiring June, in which RedBird bought Milan from Elliott and Paolo Maldini & Frederic Massara negotiated their contract renewals until the last minute, July is finally here.

On Monday, July 4th, the new season of the Rossoneri begins. Or more precisely, pre-season training kicks off with a team-meeting at Milanello, with many fans expected there to cheer on the Campioni d’Italia.

Coach Stefano Pioli will find his players again in a few days – but not everyone. While the likes of Simon Kjær, Ante Rebić and Olivier Giroud will be at Milanello – together with Yacine Adli, who starts his Milan career after the loan at Bordeaux last season, new signing Divock Origi will only arrive on Tuesday, while those who were involved in national teams games will arrive on July 14th.

It will be a summer get-together without Alessio Romagnoli and Franck Kessié who are as of yesterday free agents. Zlatan Ibrahimović‘s contract has also expired but he is recovering from a long-term injury anyways so it’s not clear whether he’ll be at Milanello or not.

On July 4th, the new Milan home-jersey will also be unveiled. It’s available for pre-order from today but only on Monday will the fans know what’s going to arrive through mail.

Milan will train for 2 weeks before their first friendly, in the Telekom Cup, against 1. FC Köln at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne. There will then be another friendly against Hungarian side Zalaegerszegi TE on July 23. A day later, Milan will leave for Austria for a three-day training camp, from July 24th to the 27th. On July 31st, Milan will face Olympique de Marseille at Stade Vélodrome.

While still not official, Milan are also widely-expected according to the Italian and Spanish media to face Barcelona on August 6th for the Gamper Trophy. On August 13th – Matchday 1: Milan-Udinese.
