Theo Hernández was delighted to prove skeptics wrong after winning his first Serie A title last night.

Milan are the 2021/22 Serie A champions and they won it in style, thanks to a 3-0 win over Sassuolo last night.

Not many predicted the Rossoneri would win the league this season, but they proved everyone that they are the best.

“The best image is the fans,” Theo told Sky Italia after the final whistle. “They believed in us from the first moment, we saw the people who were there, it was incredible. We thank them.”

On the Scudetto: “We always believed in it. The important thing is to have won the Scudetto today. Now we have a month of rest and then we’ll go back to giving everything.”

On Maldini: “Paolo… he picked me and told me that I am a very strong player.”

On the pairing with Leão: “It’s normal that two players feel good together on the field. Rafa has improved, like me, and now we are an incredible pair. Who is faster between us? I don’t know, we have to see… we never had a race.”

On the decisive moment: “I don’t know to tell you… we worked from Day 1, we believed in it, and the fans were with us too. Thanks to them we’ve given everything. There were people saying Inter were the favorites, I want to see what they are saying now.”

On the fact that everyone was talking about Inter: “We won because of that. Now who is the Champion? Siamo Noi!”

Speaking to DAZN, Theo said: “Pioli is an incredible coach, he has changed me as a player and as a person. Credit to him because also thanks to his job we won this title, we are so happy.”

On the victory: “It’s a very beautiful day. When my baby boy was born… [Samu Castillejo interrupts the interview, signing ‘Campeones, Campeones’]… I was saying…I’ve changed in everything since he was born. There is my wife as well, she is there every day to help me. This is for her and my family.”

On his growth in both phases: “When I arrived here it was difficult [to defend], it was different. I’ve been training all day. Paolo has been talking to me every day and thanks to him, the coach and all my teammates, I’ve changed.”

On if Milan have the best left flank in Europe: “I don’t know, you should ask someone else. We’ve done an incredible job. Rafa is a great player, now we must enjoy this…”

On what Maldini told him in Ibiza when he signed him: “As I’ve always said, it’s something between us. I want to thank him for everything. Thanks for his support and because of that, we are Campioni d’Italia today.”
