Let’s see if Daniel Maldini really deserves to be in this team on talent and not just because of his family name. He needs to bulk up too as he looks as light as Castellijo.

Hopefully we will get the 3 points. Glad to see GIROUD back in the starting lineup. Forza Milan

Depends who we compare him to …if he needs to do better than castipendejo, then the bar is low. But if you are expecting to do as good as brahim has done then it’s a high bar.
Personally if he does like tonali last year, I’d say it’s a win. I expect a nervous game with flashes of talent from him.
Who knows . He has shown glimpses of talent. We haven’t seen enough of him

It’s his first official really important match, and you’re gonna make judgment over it.. I personally believe that Paolo himself is professional enough if he hasn’t believe in him he was already sold or on loan.. so even if he plays bad no one can judge him immediately

Everyone in the primavera team is talented. Is he good enough for the first 11? Milan should have made it a priority to replace Calhanoglu and they didn’t.

We need a QUALITY player as we cannot rely on Diaz and a kid who is talented to replace Diaz. We should have signed someone of proven quality to replace Calhanoglu.

My issue is not with Daniel Maldini who should have been loaned out. My issue is the lack of quality in our team for AM.

Agreed mate. We should have had better cover for the number 10. Diaz actually seems up to the job so far, but he won’t be able to play all matches, and being young he’s likely to be prone to ups and downs in his form.

But if you loose your most valuable players for free, you can’t afford to cover all your bases.

Must win. Hope we open strong (unlike against venezia), and try to score the early goal. I haven’t seen spezia this season yet, but they gave juve a hard time. And we all remember the 2-0 from last season where the completely shut us down. We have to give one final push, play our guts off, so we can arrive to the Atletico match with a clear head.

1st half was definitely not good. No creativity from the midfield and a lack of quality passes in the final 3rd.

Very Poor decision making from Maldini, Rebic, Theo and Saelemaekers. Over dribbling and no football intelligence on the final passes. SMDH

Hope to see Diaz in the 2nd half but once again Milan management is showing a lack of planning and experience in recruitment.

It’s obvious we still lack a quality RW and AM. Unbelievable. SMDH

In my opinion Kessie should be benched or sent to the primavera team until he signs a contract and show that he is committed to Milan project.

Every since his contract renewal shit show by Milan management he has been horrible and look uninterested in playing for Milan.

Sell Kessie in January and replace him with Boubacar Kamara from Marseille whose contract also expires next season. Kamara is miles better than Kessie who doesn’t deserve the salary he wants. Milan made a damn good offer to him and he’s refusing to sign.

Solid first half, but there’s ample room for improvement. We had complete control over the match, with very good pressing at time, and good composed distribution. It nice to see that teams are more reluctant to press us nowadays, unless there called Liverpool of course. But we are missing more quality and creativity in the final third; Maldini is not up to the task so far unfortunately, with several bad touches; leaving us really missing Diaz. Rebic as well, while putting in his usual hustle, is not linking as well with Theo. In short, the front 3 behind Giroud isn’t… Read more »

I wouldnt really worry too much and if we doesnt really improve in the first 25 minutes of the second half we can allways add bennacer, leao and brahim and pellegri, Spezia will soon become tired and then we will close the match and in the end we will still have saved a bit of energy towards the atl madrid match.

I’m happy for Maldini that he scored but by far he didn’t have a good game it was the right decision from Pioli to sub him. No one on the team is above criticism.

Maldini had 2 passes that he played behind Giroud that could have lead to us being 2-0 up by half time. You could even see the frustration from Giroud both times because the passes were played behind him.

The quality is lacking and Maldini was ineffective the entire game except for his goal. Smh

Not trying to defend kessie’s actions off the pitch, but his on-field problems could be due to him missing pre season training to play at the olympics, then being injured shortly after returning to milan. If i’m not mistaken, he only returned against lazio 2 weeks ago, so its understandable if he is still a bit rusty. Romagnoli also missed pre season before the start of last season and struggled for the whole year. However, kessie and his agent behaviour during his contract negotiations is still unacceptable though

We almost paid for our laid back approach. To be honest we got a bit lucky, but so did Spezia with their goal. Any way i hope this passive aproach from Pioli was mainly because he wanted to save energy for the Atletico game. Hopffuly in the future we will try to close the game against smaler teams with one or two more goals ruther than sitting back and just waiting for the time to pass.

Good result for the team. Milan has matured since last season and now we can grind out a result after playing badly.

I hate to say this but I hope Krunic and Messias will be available soon as we still lack quality in AM and RW.

Diaz is proving himself to be a difference maker more than Calhanoglu who always disappears when the team needed him the most.

We just need another quality AM come January.

I totally agree. I’m happy for Maldini that he scored a goal on his official start but overall he was poor.

He had 2 chances to play a quality ball to Giroud and both times he played the pass poorly behind Giroud who was frustrated with Maldini lack of quality passes.

This was a tough win for Milan and even though Juventus is in poor form, Spezia could have easily beaten them. No top team will have easy against Spezia away on their home turf.

Yeah, the boys got that fire in the belly. A trait which has been passed on by Zlat and Kjaer, which is sure to take us to the top as long as they continue to work in this manner.

I’ve noticed his poor performances of late, but I won’t speculate on if it’s deliberate or otherwise because it doesn’t really matter. What does matter however is that we know that he’s not indispensable to the team and the way we play or to Pioli’s tactics.
