Alessandro Plizzari is expected to be out of action for the next three months.

Plizzari didn’t go out on loan in the summer and stayed at Milan for the season in the role of the third-choice goalkeeper to develop alongside Mike Maignan and Ciprian TătăruÅŸanu.

The 21-year-old has been injured in the last few weeks and today Milan confirmed that he’s gone under the knife:

“Milan can confirm that Alessandro Plizzari underwent surgery today to deal with chronic bilateral patellar tendonitis. The operation, which was completed by the Club’s consultant orthopaedist Roberto Pozzoni at the Clinica La Madonnina under the supervision of Club doctor Lucio Genesio, was a complete success. His recovery time is estimated to be three months.”
