Junior Messias is Milan’s last signing of the summer, arriving from Crotone.
The story of Messias will be told for years to come as the 30-year-old, who three years ago was still playing in Serie D, today signed for one of the biggest and most prestigious clubs in the world.
Milan were looking for the right, affordable, profile to reinforce the attack all summer and on transfer deadline day they sealed the transfer of Messias from Crotone.
“Milan is delighted to announce the signing from Crotone FC of Walter Messias Junior on loan with option to buy. The player will wear the number 30 jersey,” a statement reads on Tuesday evening.
“Born in Ipatinga, Brazil, on 13 May 1991, Messias moved to Italy in 2011 playing for Casale and Chieri, before making his debut in professional football with Gozzano. In the summer of 2019, he signs for Crotone earning a Serie A promotion and scoring 15 goals in 72 appearances across two seasons with the Calabrian side.”
Messias arrives on loan for €2.6m, with an option to buy set at €5.4m + €1m bonuses. He will join the squad of Stefano Pioli immediately and could have his debut against Lazio on September 12.
