Mario Mandžukić bid farewell to Milan after just six months.
Mandžukić was brought in the January transfer market to be an alternative for Zlatan Ibrahimović and allow him to rest.
However, the Croatian did not manage to contribute much as he spent the majority of the time injured or unavailable.
Mario had a contract until the end of the season with an option to renew for another year. Milan of course chose not to use this option and they’ll be on the market for a new striker in the summer.
“It was a pleasure to play for Milan,” he wrote on his Instagram account yesterday. “I am thankful to the club management for giving me the opportunity, to the coaching staff for their dedicated work and to my teammates who are not only excellent players but a great group of guys.
“I am happy that we have managed to get this great club back to the Champions League where it belongs and I wish everybody at the club only the best in the future.”
This guy is a good striker but injuries betrayed him. Thanks for your considerate gesture and all the best
It was really unfortunate how he spent the time with the club. Wish him all the best!
they can offer lower wages and keep him since we would need a large squad for the competitions and hopefully, if he plays more, he would probably hit a good form and fitness to some extent, but we still need to get a young top striker
IT WAS A PLEASURE TO HAVE YOU MANDZUKIC.THANK YOU AND FORZA MILAN.
All the best Mario Mandzukic. Such a gentleman. So far these people have failed to stay more than one season with the no.9 ever since Inzaghi retired:
Pato – 2012
Matri – 2013
Torres – 2014
Destro – 2015
Adriano – 2015
Lapadula – 2016
Silva – 2017
Higuain – 2018
Piatek – 2019
Mandzukic – 2021
Signing Mandzukic disrupted Milan’s season! First, his took Hauge’s place on the team but never contributed anything to the team! Mandzukic was a terrible mistake and was the low point of the just concluded season!!!
