Maignan has signed a 5-year contract with Milan, the goalkeeper arrives from Lille on a €13m + €2m bonuses deal

Mike Maignan has undergone the medical and signed the contract as he’s set to become Milan’s new keeper.

After finishing the season in 2nd place and securing a CL qualification on the final round of Serie A, the Rossoneri turned their attention to the transfer market, and have wasted no time making big moves.

Once Milan understood that the chances of keeping Gianluigi Donnarumma at the club no longer exist, they accelerated negotiations for Mike Maignan who has been on the shortlist of Paolo Maldini and co. for quite some time.

Last night the deal was concluded and Maignan arrived in Milano. This morning he underwent the medical check-ups at La Madonnina Clinic before heading to Casa Milan to put pen to paper and sign a five-year deal with the Rossoneri. Only the official announcement is now missing.

As reported by Milannews.it, Sky and others, Milan agreed to pay Lille €13m + €2m for the goalkeeper who finished the season with the most clean sheets in Europe – 21 – followed by Ederson of Manchester City (19), Jan Oblak of Atlético Madrid (18) and Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid (17). Fresh off winning Ligue 1, the 25-year-old will be earning €2.5m plus bonuses.

Milan are replacing Donnarumma with one of the best options available on the market. The Frenchman will be in the goal of the 7-time Champions League winners in next year’s competition.

Great capture before the Euros begin and raises his price tag even more. Kudos to Maldini for this smart move and also low key easy deal because of Lille having tied to Elliot too.

As much as I hate to see Donnarumma go, I love the counter-attitude measure the management took more. I hope we could keep both of them

Welcome maignan! You will surely make us a proud unlike the ungrateful donnarumma.

Honestly just the bs over the years of donnarumma and raiola Im not upset to cut ties with either of them. Maldini stood his ground and that makes me so happy. Nobody is bigger than the club. Shows the character of a true legend in Maldini and the character of dollarumma.

Very good replacement. Mike Maignan will become world class at Milan. Even Lille president said so.

Time to move on from Calhanoglu as well if he doesn’t renew. I hope we can wrap up De Paul signing as quickly as possible.

I’m very happy that Donnaraiola are leaving but please I hope Milan do not sign De Paul. He is soooooooo overrated. I get mad about signings that I know will flop for sure like I said about Castillejo when we first bought him. De Paul has zeeeeeeero dynamism. He is average in everything. Just thinking of him upsets me. and for all that money 40m? No please!

We need so many players now. After spending the 13M on Maignan, we now need to redeem Tonali and Tomori, additional 43-53M(depending on bonuses). With Roma out another CB, additionally LB, CM, CAM maybe 2 if Brahim can’t be signed, RW and a ST. And the only players put on the market are: Roma, Laxalt, Caldara, Conti, Castillejo, and possibly Hauge. The 100M from Chalha and Donna would have made all the difference, now we have to focus on free agents such as Hysaj, Giroud, Illicic… These guys won’t make us win the Scudetto nor advance in advanced UCL stage.… Read more »

Welcome!
Hopefully he will settle down quickly and create communication with the new backline.
Decent signing.
But should try to parry a little less.
Good luck!

God, I’m proud of this management. This move shows that no player is and should be bigger than a club. This move will also make Calhanoglu sit right. I’m proud of you milan

What has BLM to do with Mike Maignan arriving at Milan? That’s just rac*st Robert. It’s called Microaggressive rac*sm. Struggle is not the definition or the sum of all black people like you are passively INSINUATING! Therefore people like you who do these things are either consciously or unconsciously racism*st. But I don’t care. Just be aware and quit it Robert! Very soon when the NWO is in place these lessons will be part of the global curriculum. Forza Milan!

In America. The cops don’t shoot black people in Europe for no reason. Also this is a football site. Keep politics off it.

Welcome Maignan! If he can play the same level as he did for Lille for next 5 years, Milan will be in great hands!

great, swift signing. like i said, if the negotiations for a deal goes swiftly, chances are milan’re gonna get said player but if its dragging for too long, chances are theyre not gonna get the player.
benvenuto maignan, i hope u can be as successful as another ligue 1 graduate eduard mendy

People are comparing him to Dida but beside the color of his skin, He is more like a young Abbiati. Fast, Responsive & brave. the good thing about erratic goalkeepers is that they get even better when they get older. Don’t forget we also have Tata & Mirante. Yes they are old but both are solid goalkeepers. I think we will be ok in this area. Lets move toward an attacking midfielder who can replace the lazy greedy Hakan & a right midfielder & a striker.

For the first time in at least 10 years, there are players that are very good, who are going for 30/35 mil or less and we as usual will pass them up! Brobbey(already at Leipzig) belotti, daka, malen, all 35 mil or less. Then you got ikone, thauvin(already at tigers) Antony, neres are all 35 or less! Then you have Brandt who I believe is under 30 from Dortmund. Milan are taking too long! We literally shot gunned Mike M. When Donna wasn’t signing so what’s the hold up on these guys? Oh and all of them except Brandt have… Read more »
