Indeed. After Rebic came on, Milan had no striker at all. No Milan players were in the penalty box – except for the freekick where Tomori scored.

I would have preferred Mandzukic instead of Rebic just because he’s a proper striker and can shield the ball but I can forgive Pioli since Rebic scored that “awful” goal. 😀

Tbh in terms of playing style, Milan pass better when zlatan isn’t there only bc we can’t play long ball anymore. It forces us to play intricate passes from defense to offense. Essentially our midfield is utilized more. Rebic was def the better choice mainly bc he’s in form.

Wonderful match, wonderful result! We surpassed Juve’s 3-1 on the last match, which could be decisive. Great showing by practically everyone, with Diaz and Tomori really stepping up to prove their worth. Pioli’s game plan really outshone Pirlo’s, and this was one of our best matches throughout the season.

But we haven’t accomplished anything yet. Get a good night rest, and start preparing for Torino tomorrow.

However, the conservative approach and lack of pace and skill in our attack will continue to yield mixed results.

The 4222 isn’t the problem, neither is the 4231. It’s who is in what position. Hakan struggled badly bc he’s slow. He was in but lack of pace cost us a chance there. Hakan has never shined on the wing and that’s the truth. He could be our most skilled player but lack of pace will make you fail.

Calabria was great as usual. He is officialy the best tackler in the league this year. Stopping both Ronaldo and Chiesa on his side is not a small thing. Chiesa was so frustrated. Overall i agree with what you said but in regard of chiesas yellow card if that is the situation you are refering to it didnt really look like it was on purpose as he slipped and slided into him. Even the commentators said it didnt look like it was on purpose but when that is said it was also clear that he was frustrated by calabrias impeckable marking. Anyways regardless of it seemingly being an accident chieasa nevertheless deserved a yellow card for the offence.

Arsenal won’t make Europe. Milan can raid their bench for maybe Pepe or if we have the cash Aube (who already likes milan). Juve if they fall out of UCL, will have to release Dybala who will be an excellent addition to Milan (any team really) if we want to get a demon on the right or if we decide to let Hakan leave.
All in all, I trust Maldini. Even Roma and Lazio may have players worth poaching. Or Udinese’s De Paul (if Hakan leaves).

I really wouldn’t want vlahovic unless we got another fast and skillful striker to play with him. Look at the lukaku and Martinez partnership. When Milan plays with one target forward, we become predictable, especially when we are pressed. We go long to zlatan and completely bypass the mids. It’s ugly game play. But when zlatan isn’t there you can visibly see how much better our passing has to be when going up the field. For the midfield. We def need a faster rw. Ikone is a must right now. Eh I’m more of the opinion that Milan tactics made it impossible for juve to play. Players like ronaldo, chiesa, morata all thrive on having space, when you don’t give it to them they become seriously average. They didn’t have a player that could dribble in really tight spaces, something dybala can do. Yes juve was bad but that’s bc Milan made them look bad. As for the line up, yes we need more speed on the wings and up top.

Here’s a question. Let’s say Milan win the next 2 games. Should we use the last game against Atalanta to try some primavera players, gabbia and hauge ? I’m not saying using half the team, but why not try roback with rebic next to him. Hauge on the left, gabbia and tomori cb. Then have a few youngsters on the bench that can come in at the 60-65 min mark.

lol there u go again with ur nonsense. play primavera players vs the deadliest attack in serie a? for what? so they would get scarred for life from the blatant footballing molestation they would surely get? milan primavera cant even reach top 4 yet in their own league. why should roback who so far has just scored 2 goals in 17 matches (worse stats than brahim or even castipendejo) play ahead or leao? because he’s young and fast, like ur usual “argument”? i didnt know leao was old AND slow. there is time and place to integrate primavera into 1st… Read more »

Ah once again you miss the point without even thinking about the reason. Did you know Barca, Madrid, city, Bayern etc all use their youngsters in big games. And those are games that mattered, not games were they could afford it. I said play these guys if our qualification is guaranteed. We bought roback to take over the attack one day, he trains with the first team all the time, so why not try him in a game with no pressure. You bring up leao as if he has 15 goals this season. Leao isn’t a forward and never will… Read more »

“Did you know Barca, Madrid, city, Bayern etc all use their youngsters in big games.” yeah musiala played for bayern when 1st team player was injured, not because the coach felt lucky. “so why not try him in a game with no pressure.” yeah, thats called preseason not game vs atalanta. “You bring up leao as if he has 15 goals this season.” i never said that. but he does have 11 goals + assists combined. and he plays in serie a, not primavera. if anyone deserves to play when ibra isnt around its him not 2 goals st. “Leao… Read more »

Not necessarily all of them but if cl is secured i wouldnt mind giving robach 5-10 minutes at the end if we are either a lot behind or has a very unlikely comfortable lead. anyways we should obviously chase a victory so not too much experimentation as the result could mean direct qualification or a qualification match so we should go for the remaining 9 points in my view.

Exactly, I’m. It saying let’s go crazy with the primavera players but why not try the players deemed as the future. Roback, gabbia, hauge, olzer, maldini should be used if possible. The main problem is Milan should have been using these guys throughout the season. I watched the manu game yesterday and both teams fielded a few players that were like 17-18 years old. That’s 2nd vs 3 place. So why is Milan scared to do the same.

Well igabbia has played around 9 serie agames if i remember correctly, maldini five or something but both has been mared with injuries and atleast in regard of gabbia he would have played a lot more had he not ended up injured. Hauge has played around 20 games even though mainly as a sub even if we agree that would like to see him getting more minutes. olzer might get some chances next season or atleast endup on a loan. roback would have made sense when we didnt have a striker at our disposal. generally giving younger players some minutes… Read more »

You know it’s possible we win our next 2 matches and still not qualify? So lets not get ahead of ourselves.

No if milan win the next 2 matches we will have qualified regardless of other results because we are better head to head against juventus.

Ya as Martin said, if we win both it won’t matter bc we have the better head to head with juve. Even if we tied Atalanta even that would guarantee 3rd bc we have a better head to head against napoli

napoli are scary and they’ll “only” face 2 more minnows so i expect them to qualify for ucl. its up to milan to win their next 2 matches to seal their spot before they face atalanta. i must say though, juve will definitely drop points vs inter and maybe even sassuolo, which means milan could seal their place in ucl in giornata 36-37. here’s to hoping

Hope the injuries don’t effect us too much tonight, I’d like to see 2 striker system tonight, pairing leao and rebic. Rebic seems to score alot from Central positions.
