Simon Kjær said ‘we did it with personality’ after scoring the equalizer against Manchester United last night.
Without 5 starters, Milan played a good game against a strong Manchester United side at Old Trafford for the 1st leg of the Europa League Round of 16.
Man United had the first (allowed) goal of the night as Amad Diallo skillfully netted over Gigio Donnarumma. However, justice was made in the end as Simon Kjær rose in the air in the 92′ minute to hit the ball with his head and make it 1-1 at the end of the match. The second leg will be played next Thursday night at Stadio San Siro.
“This is an important result, we played a great game,” Kjær told Sky. “We showed personality and I think we dominated, playing our game. Kessié’s handball? I spoke to him and I think it was a mistake to disallow the goal. It’s a pity that could have changed the game. We had a great match tonight.
“Manchester United have quality but with personality and patience we can move the ball and play our game. We did it with personality, we came here and with our chest out to play for Milan. The team played strong tonight and we expect another very difficult match next week.”
