Diogo Dalot was happy to leave Old Trafford with a goal last night, as he played against his parent club.

Dalot came to the club in the summer on loan from Manchester United and last night he returned ‘home’ as the Rossoneri faced Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side in the first leg of the Europa League.

Amad Diallo (50′) scored first but Simon Kjær (92′) equalized to give Milan an important result ahead of next week’s second leg of the Round of 16.

“I think what we did today was right, we deserved to score in the end. We played very well today,” Dalot told MilanTV at the end of the match.

“Facing Manchester United? It was a special moment for me, I had great moments with Manchester United but today I was playing for my team – Milan – and what’s important is we played very well and we managed to score, which is crucial.

“The return leg? The next game starts 0-0 and we know that we’ll have to match or do better than today. If we do, we’ll be closer to winning.”
