This is a good match for some of the boys to get back to their rhythm. Bennaser and Rebic, and also Hakan hopefully later, should use this match to exercise control of the midfield in a match where we need to dominate. The main issue on Sunday was our attitude, thinking we can pass matches without 100% fight and effort. This needs to be fixed quickly, and today is as good a match as any.

I see we haven’t sent Dalot back to Man United yet and Castellijo still wearing a Milan jersey. Sigh

At least Kalulu is starting at RB and should be the backup for Calabria going forward.

We all want to see Rebic tried on the right, but currently he’s not so great on his preferred side, and even if he was in top form, Pioli’s right in thinking twice before breaking the wonderful chemistry he has with Theo.

TONITE ON MILAN10 MUSINGS mbappe and verratti’s collective performance in barca vs psg game was perfect example of how modern inverted winger/ss hybrid and playmaker should operate. mbappe kept dropping deep asking for the ball and when he had it he did his henry-esque fast diagonal runs from the left to middle and vice versa and it confused dest and pique so much. verratti also was fantastic; though he was slow he distributed the ball perfectly setting the tempo and direction and was virtually at the heart of every psg attack. leao and hakan need to learn from them. like… Read more »

Don’t get me wrong, I am a big Bennacer fan but I hope Tonali will play against Inter. This game, but also against Spezia, Bennacer was not able to dictate the game like we know he can. The connection between the midfield and attack was gone. One of the reasons I blame Bennacer is that he has been dropping too deep, positioning himself between our two central defenders (something he did much less before the injury). Another one is that he did not join the attack, something we know he can. It would be good to have Bennacer back to… Read more »

i think thats purely tactical. pioli instructed him to do that so he could be milan’s main creative force from mf. milan lost vs spezia because the gap between defense line and mf was too wide hence the incessant long balls, so i think pioli asked ben to bridge that gap tonite

iNot a very good first half by the boys. But at least the energy and attitude were much better than against Spezia. Kalulu’s loosing too many balls in our half, cramping up our build up. Romag and Tomori allowing too much to the opposition, with Donna working much harder than he should. Bennacer was very weak before he unfortunately had to be taken off, and Meite is okayish I guess but still not providing enough defense. Rebic and Mandukic look out of the form, especially Mandukic who really looks like someone who hasn’t played for more than a year. Samu… Read more »

I hate Pioli’s game plan for the midfield and I have been saying this for a while now. What does he even tell our midfielders to do cos we are dominated in the midfield all the damn time. Also, most of our players look so lazy once the ball is taken from them. We will be destroyed by inter if he doesn’t fix this midfield problems and if he doesn’t change this stupid gameplan of just kicking the ball up and expecting a miracle. Smh

I’ve always said the double pivot mid we get outnumbered, inter play 352 so we lose midfield battle. Its too much for 2 mids to cover width of pitch unless hakan and wingers drop back which doesn’t always happen. Then u have theo charging forward too, which leaves us exposed,

If we got another rw we could even try a 352 variation. Kjaer keeps getting hurt bc we are rushing him back, same as bennacer. What coach starts someone when they just got back. You sub them in with 15-20 min to go. Not start them and expect from them. That’s why I said gabbia or kalulu. Most likely kalulu since gabbia to is just getting back. We still need a cam bc hakan and Diaz are not locked in and both leave for free at the end of the season

Uhhh idk. Calabria is too good at rb and is actually able to support the attack better than salemakers can even when he’s on the wing. Tonali/meite is fine, they just need consistent playing to get right. Also rebic has to play left bc of his link up with Theo. Leao is too lazy to play the wing. LOL mate I understand how you feel right now but it seems you are beginning to have bats in the belfry with this Paqueta guy because you talk about him time after time. Paqueta is good but one of his problems is attitude. You remember how he behaved when he was here. Maybe as he left MIlan he had to recalibrate himself to safe his career. Apparently, that could be reason why he is performing. As you know MIlan doesn’t have that patience to keep an underperforming player for long especially when higher transfer fund is involved. Chances are that… Read more »

“to have bats in the belfry” lol weird but interesting way of saying “genius” mate *wink “Paqueta is good but one of his problems is attitude” well, brazilians tend to get home sick. prime romario, ronaldo, maicon etc felt it too. its not like paquelme slapped opponents around or participated in sanremo festival like ibra. give the talented kid a break “As you know MIlan doesn’t have that patience to keep an underperforming player for long.” thats exactly my point. saponara owned 20m dalot big time and his spezia trashed milan 2-0 last weekend. cristante and loca are doing well… Read more »

Milan is like an unstable isotope trying to reach stability. Any player surplus to requirement will be shown the exit. Milan is a big club that has fallen from grace to grass and now wants to go back to grace as soon as possible again. So one could expect this kind of high labour turnover .Imagine the years we have been out of champion league and you still expect us to be a nursing home for potentials players whose potentialities may never be given expression or realized. You expect us to be keeping surplus players for donkey’s years and be… Read more »

“Milan is like an unstable isotope trying to reach stability.” oh yeah, milan try to reach stability by losing energy. look at kjaer, he cant barely play for 1 half without getting injured. mandzukic played half assedly for 82 mins and now he’s injured. “Any player surplus to requirement will be shown the exit.” like i said, milan are in rebuilding phase, which means theyre not complete yet. there’s no such things as surplus to requirement with this tiny, incomplete squad. unless of course, u think krunic and old mandzukic are better reserves than paquelme and andre silva. “Milan is… Read more »

Hnmm……….You only gave answers to points you think you can defend while you are silent on other. I laugh at you in English …. For those you have provided responses to, your answers do not hold water. When I said Milan is like Isotope, you gave a literal answer to a figurative expression. When I said ” Surplus to requirements” you are expected to interpret taking cognizance of all the senses but instead you took a parochial view of it. You interpreted it only in terms of quantity and forgetting quality…… For your remaining responses , you box the compass..Your… Read more »

“”like i said, i wont hold hands with “milanisti” and milan mgmt to sing kumbaya together in the shower. the way i see it, we should criticize milan otherwise they’ll make same mistakes over and over again. “”

If you like talk nineteen to dozen.
If you like write about your Paqueta till pigs fly.
Truth is Milan management doesn’t even know someone like you exist.

well, thats very cynical way of looking at supporters. luckily ur not in any position to look down on people who actually give u revenue. truth is milan mgmt, an italian entity no less, knows milanisti like me exist and our voices count and matter. whats the point of becoming football fans if u cant speak ur minds?

and yet u’ve been attracted to and replying to my comments like a moth into flame. italian football knows the value of supporters. football is like religion to italian clubs and their fans. hell, even maradona or totti could be influenced by them. its not my fault u dont know italian football. paqueta and andre silva are having time of their lives in france and germany respectively whereas milan struggled to even beat spezia and red star because their reserves like mandzukic and krunic just aint up to par. thats a fact. if u cant reply to this point then… Read more »

LOL……. See …two things save you… 1. We are Milan and we are not supposed to be arguing like adversaries. 2. Wish we could see in person to set a better stage to argue this out once and for all. It won’t take me time to dismantle all this your comments . 3. Lots of people on this blog have been making innuendos and insinuations about meaningless time you waste on this blog to advertise Paqieta who is no more our player.. . oh im literally shaking right now. u know u lose an argument when u have to resort to classic “lets/wish we could meet in person” like its not the emptiest threat off all time. like i repeatedly said, its not about paqueta, its about milan’s tendency to let their young gems easily. whats stopping milan from letting ben or donna go next? theres even report back then about how ben wanted to go to psg but he’s too shy to ask milan mgmt. regarding me as football fan, if u underestimate the power of fans, especially in this day and… Read more »

If we keep on keeping all the players you mentioned and they are still not performing in Milan up to this time and Milan is still performing badly, so u will still dogmatically keeping them in the squad ???

u said it so urself in that article of milan 0 – 3 inter that milan need better players and they should’ve acted upon it last jan mercato. paqueta and andre silva are better players than krunic and old injury prone mandzukic. are we really splitting hairs here?

are u slow? yes of course i would still keep paqueta and silva, among others, even if they kept playing badly for milan. why? because i’ve seen them play and i know for a fact that theyre quality players, they just need playing time and coach’s trust. u must be a football virgin if u think krunic/mandzukic are better than paqueta/silva, today and for the next 5-10 yrs

btw, this is a direct quote from article of cagliari 0-2 milan match from jan 2020:
“After going three full matches without finding the back of the net, Pioli listened to the football tips from fans and experts and changed the formation: using a 4-4-2 with Suso and Krzysztof Piątek on the bench, and Ibra & Rafael Leão up front.”
anyone who thinks a club dont listen to their fans clearly doesnt understand football. like, AT ALL

“So you will keep them even when u know the club is in serious financial difficulty.????” so what exactly is ur endgame here? ben, romag, tonali, hakan and even theo are not playing well too lately. should milan sell them too because milan are in serious financial difficulty? thats idiotic so YOU would sell them for peanuts and then try to buy their replacements for more than u sold them despite milan having financial difficulties? what kind of retarded plan is that? get it straight buster, like i said, milan will need at least 100m just to keep their loanees… Read more »

TONITE ON MILAN10 MUSINGS remember what i said after spezia 2-0 milan that to handle high pressing and fast wingplay teams u need to counter press but rather than implementing high defensive line u should be defensive with distance between cb and st < 50 – 60 m and then hit them on counterattacks using fast diagonal through balls to the flanks? well, i frankfurt just implemented the exact tactics vs bayern. it could’ve been 3-1 or even 4-1. remember when i repeatedly said classic #9 like jovic and immobile cant play as lone st because they lack passing and… Read more »
