One of the major killers of our game is constantly passing the ball back to our goalie hereby giving the other team chance to regroup. I hate that kind of game. One of the main ways inter is successful is how the constantly put pressure on their opponents by playing the ball forward and not letting the opponents regroup.

well i wouldnt cut him off completely yet as he propably wants to prove the opposite in next half. I don’t really blame the defense for most of the problem I blame the game plan in general. We keep on slowing down and passing the ball back when we’re supposed to be punishing the opponent by pushing forward. If we keep inviting pressure, we risk messing up our tactics and not giving our players time to regroup.

Milan10

milan kept passing the ball back because no one in milan mf has the skill and vision to deliver that final ball or at least pre assist to the wingers and ibra. leao did absolutely nothing as am. an am should be the one who has most time with the ball but in 1sf half even tomori had more time with the ball than him, which is laughable. john malkovich needs to either change formation or play rebic or tonali or bendondo as am in 2nd half

I hope Tonali will learn how to play in 2 man midfield.. But I also wonder if this formation is actually not the best by nature for a deep lying playmaker like him.. Aside of Xabi Alonso, I cannot remember one who thrived in this formation. (Pirlo, the greatest exponent of that role, always had the formation adjusted to him, actually.) One thing Xabi always excelled from his young age is actually his defensive skill, which was overlooked due to his superb passing ability. I believe this what made the difference, that a player like him could play very well… Read more »

Tonali definitely struggling in a 2 man midfield. I doubt Milan will switch to a 3 man midfield because Hakan Calhanoglu does do well as a winger.

So I don’t know how that will work out but we have to give Tonali time to adapt. Just like we did with Bennacer. Tonali is still young and has a lot of room for improvement.

An okayish first half by the boys, but great to be in the lead after 45 minutes. Our right side looks quite good, with Theo on fire for a couple of minutes, and Rebic looking sharp. It’s unfortunate that that hakan and Diaz are both out. Tomori looks a little nervous to play the forward ball and keeps going back to the keeper. One problem with our right side is that Hakan, Ibra, Rebic, and Leao all tend to move toward left. Alexis ans Calabria are all alone. Even worst when Bennacer isn’t there to support them. Yes Alexia isn’t as talented as Leao and rebic but he also isn’t getting any support.

Before when we had no chance, Milan were the youngest bravest squad but now, we are such a coward that can’t even close the game in fron of a lackluster Bologna. Good win, it seems closer than it was because of bologna’s GK has fantastic saves.

Right wing is a dead end.
Thus make them very predictable.

Mandzukic on the left was a bad call, more likely an experiment than anything else. Otherwise, I thought both Bennaser and Krunic were good calls. Bennacer was a good call but with us only being up by 2. A real cam like maldini who has shown he can make things happen would have been better. We’ve seen time after time krunic offers zero so why play him. Use maldini or send him out on loan. They use mandzukic on the lw bc he played there on juve. It’s not really an experiment, more so going off of previous history

I agree.. i said it last week too. Manzukic shouldn’t be a winger sub. He should be a backup for ibra. It’s unfortunate that both CAM options were out today. Playing leao out of position was a poor choice perhaps. Why can’t we switch to a 442 in these scenarios?

Exactly! We all know leao is a support striker in france, that means playing along side another forward. That’s why I said play maldini bc he’s a natural cam. We literally got dominated for good portions of the game. Ball retention going side to side and back isn’t dominating, that means the other team is controlling the game defensively.
