So far: Romagnoli- Mussacio has been solid, Kalulu is really impressive, his top speed is Cristiano-like. Calabria- Tonalli are OK. Calabria’s long pass to Ibra was a delight to see. Well mussachio hasnt played a real game in over 300 days so to avoid him getting injured right away i think it does make the most sense to take him off by then.
as opposed to romaldini playing every game since his return from injury? guardioli should’ve learnt by now that overplaying players is recipe for disaster. case in point: romaldini’s injury near the end of last season

and he did play for 62 minutes, that should be enough for him and yeah fatigue is and can be an issue but this was an important match nevertheless so keeping on the captain does make sense in my view. Yeah, good point. Still Haken, Leao, Theo, Calabria, and more all played roughly 70 minutes. Pioli has been great with managing the players time with this hectic schedule, but still… there’s only so much you can stretch this squad.

Pioli’s substitutions killed off this game. Not sure why all the wholesale changes but it definitely affected the team’s chemistry.
This should have been an easy win.
We could and should have won this match far earlier but regardless of substitutes that was made we had several fairly open chances that should have gotten us an atleast 2-3 goals. Sharpness infront of goal was our main issue whether it was ibra, leao, calabria.
This was Tonali’s best game in a Milan uniform so far.

Today I learned: Mussaccio>Gabbia: The man still has it what can I say. I would say that his lack of playtime is something that he did off the pitch. There are rules and codes and he clearly broke one. He is 30 and receives 2Millions per season. A decent backup if you ask me. just finished watching napoli vs empoli. Empoli do have a few interesting young players. Ricci is only 19 but played like a seasoned player in central midfield. Bajrami, 21 year old, was impressive at trequartista. Others like damiani, a 22 years old dmc and viti, 18 year old centreback were also quite decent.
