Çalhanoğlu to miss the game against Torino on Saturday with a swollen ankle, will undergo more checks soon

Another key injury for Milan: Hakan Çalhanoğlu is out of the next game.

Milan are running out of starters: after missing 7 players in the 3-1 defeat against Juventus last night – the first defeat of the Rossoneri in Serie A since March 8, the Rossoneri have now lost another player.

As reported by Sky Italia, Milannews.it and others, at the end of Milan-Juventus at Stadio San Siro on Wednesday, Çalhanoğlu felt serve pain in his left ankle.

As of today, the ankle of the Turkish is still swollen and it is now certain that he will miss the match against Torino which takes place at San Siro on Saturday evening at 20:45 CET. The player will undergo further checks in the coming days to understand the severity of his injury.

Stefano Pioli is already without Rade Krunić and Ante Rebić (COVID-19) and without the injured Matteo Gabbia, Ismaël Bennacer, Alexis Saelemaekers and Zlatan Ibrahimović. Finding solutions on the pitch also without Hakan, who was chosen as the Lega Serie A Player of the Month for December, is another huge challenge for the coach who will look to retain the first place in the standings.

Sandro Tonali will return from suspension against Torino, while Zlatan may be able to make it to the bench. Çalhanoğlu’s injury is yet another blow for Milan.

I hate this management, why have they not give hakan and donna contract yet do they know what they are risky, adding million extra won’t kill milan this is a risky game they are playing at, this management are worst than our previous management the only difference is paiolo maldini

They haven’t signed a contract with another team. Both players can play on any team in the world so, if they haven’t signed a deal it’s because they want to stay.

Gigio has stuck with Milan, even when fans threw false money against him, he could’ve played at CL and hasn’t because he wants to be a star for this team. The boy wants to be a one-man club and he wants Milan to be what it once was. Hakan and Maldini apparently reached a gentlemen’s agreement, I think it’s rumored that he will get the raise he wanted. I know, it’s not official, but I highly doubt that anyone on this team is willing to leave for free when they have a solid chance to play at CL next week.… Read more »

Elliotazzuri, I did some research and this is what’s being reported by Calciomeracto today. “STIPIC IN ITALY – According to what has been learned from CalcioMercato.com, at the beginning of next week the agent Gordon Stipic will be in Milan to meet Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini. Sources close to the player profess optimism for a future that is still red and black, but the distance between supply and demand remains large. At present, the Via Aldo Rossi club does not seem willing to improve the proposal from 3.5 million net per season. Let’s add some context: Gigio – €6M… Read more »

Can’t believe we missed out on kone cos we offered 5 million and German club offered 9!tjis has got gazidis written all over it like he was at arsenal. These injuries and covid really depleting us but we done so well especially with zlatan out. If we had better luck with injuries especially zlatan I think we would have more points than we have now. A cdm, right winger is crucial, especially god forbid kessie gets injured.

We offered 7mil in total. Moenchengladbach offered 9mil and are close to a done deal. We still have time, like its only 2mil difference we can match their offer but we prob wont. We will miss out on the player. We have the same problem with Simakan. Lipzig are entering the race and i think they will pay the 20mil until we are trying to bring it down to 18mil. I stoped counting how many targets we lost cause of being cheap. 2mil is nothing really on today’s market.

We should have no regrets about missing out on Kone. That’s way too much for an unproven player who has no top flight experience.

Soumare or Anguissa is a far better option and better value for our money.

I just don’t think we have the funds to buy 20 million midfielder until we have qualified for champions league, maybe a loan with option to buy if a club will agree to that in january? To be honest don’t know much bout kone but 9 million is low risk and what I saw of him he looked pretty good for tgst money, but we defo need somebody in.

If Milan can’t afford a 20m player like Soumare or Anguissa then Elliott Management needs to sell the club ASAP.

Milan is a top club. The best club in Italy in regards to international and domestic trophies. Only Juventus have more domestic trophies.

This idea of not having money to buy quality players is an embarrassment for a club of AC Milan stature.

They chose Kone because they knew the Soumare and Anguissa which are already made players and more proven will be more costlier. If they couldn’t buy the cheapest, what makes you think they’ll purchase the more costlier ones? #StingyManagement!

I dont know much about this players. But i know we need a dmf, so 9mil for a young promising dmf is not much. He will be a rotation player so it makes sense to go for cheaper player rather than a 20mil. Or maybe bring back Pobega but he seems more attack oriented mid, he won a penalty and scored later on against Napoli, prob was man of the match.

At the end Milan will become a scouting club for the other clubs to make the right purchase. Stingy management and owners, I only feel sorry for Paulo Madini. Because going like this, we won’t make Champions League. It’s just because of the inconsistency of the other clubs that will enable us make it that is if we are lucky. #StingyManagemnt. Milan made the right decision to not sign him. Kouadio Kone doesn’t play in Ligue 1 and he’s still too young and unproven. A better option is definitely Soumare who is available for under 20m. Soumare has proven experience in Ligue 1 and we need players that can compete for a starting position in midfield. The higher the level of competition the better off for Milan style of play and competitiveness. Either Soumare or Anguissa from Fulham would be ideal for us. I don’t like when Milan sign players like Saelemaekers and Kalulu who doesn’t have enough experience. That’s too… Read more »

I agree! This is embarrassing for Milan. If they can’t spend 20, it’s time to sell. Not making champions league isn’t a excuse. We need a owner that will spend money! Plain and simple. And if we make the champions league, I expect to spend heavy. If this management would have reinforced in the summer, then reinforced this winter, we could realistically win the league. That’s more money for next summer! This is how big teams continue to dominate and why Milan has been so shit for so long! Bayern isn’t a big spending team but they will go out… Read more »

I hope Pioli tries Hauge as AM. I think he’s better when he has the freedom to roam the pitch.

Hauge looks too isolated on the wings and he can offer a lot more with his passing and shooting playing through the middle where he can express himself more.

He would be more efficient and effective in the final 3rd than Diaz or Daniel Maldini.

If Hauge goes AM then i think we wont have anyone proper on the wings at all which means Theo is going to go up more often to attack and defense will be split open way more easy considering how slow Romagnoli can be at times. Hauge is good on the wing, he also does some defending.

I know that we’re all frustrated that we cant even close cheap deals like Simakan, etc. But I think the management has a clear idea of what they are doing when it comes to spending. Think about it… The goal at the start of the season was to qualify for champions league=4th place finish. This plus the goal of gambling on a young squad with great potential. Keeping this is mind, looking at the present situation = Top of the league, qualified for round of 32 and our youngsters like Kalulu and Hauge are growing so quick each game at… Read more »

Sky Italia reported that there will be no changes in the budget plans for January, no matter that Milan are 1st place after 16games. The problem with the renewals is the same as with the transfers, Eliot dosnt want to pay. Chelsea are already after Donaruma, so they will prob offer him much bigger salary. It will really be up to him. Things with Hakan aren’t moving either.

Low vision and mentality has killed your drive for a good squad who can compete on all fronts. Pioli is only working miracles as he asked for 4 starters quality midfielders but we have only 2. Tonali isn’t starter quality yet in a big club, they’re just rushing his integration to the squad which is same as some other young players. Juventus won because of the quality of depth they’ve got and I won’t be surprised if they win the league again except Inter becomes consistent. Milan will struggle to make 5th with the way this squad is always rampaged… Read more »

Low mentality and vision? My friend, one loss to juventus and you’re acting as if the world is gone. Listen. Club knows how to run the club. Not you not me. We have many players injured now unfortunately at the same time. Deal with it. Soon they’ll be back and it’ll be fine. We need signings yes to help the current squad and it will come over time. I trust in Maldini.

Also remember we’re financially tight due to covid. Our club is running without any stadium revenues. I don’t see any club spending over 30-40 million max this year.

As a matter of fact, following Milan Mercator only brings frustration. Our squad is depleted, we need to remain competitive. The management lied about their last minutes effort to add a defender and midfielder in the summer. I thought by now maldini and massara will wrap things up quickly and add some depth to this squad because with these injuries, it shows we are seriously lacking depth and risk missing out on top four. Milan only follow cheap loans and never serious about improving the squad. Disgusting to think we have sold lot of players

At this point, am beginning to think we need divine intervention since we are struggling to close a deal of 9m. Renewals are foot dragging. injuries have depleted our team.Like someone said here that the management have their plans. Granted. But one begins to question this their business plan when we could have aqquired Bakayoko on loan when the management knew there is even no budget like 9m to get a mildfielder. I completely agree. We seriously are acting like scouts for other teams especially since everyone is seeing Milan’s rise. Can you imagine if we had real owners. Everyone would want to come to Milan. If money wasn’t a problem, our brand would attract the best talent. But as we know money and not an actual players career, runs this business. Look at the English. Players don’t go to that league to win champions league. They go for money. If Milan had the money of Madrid, Manchester clubs, Chelsea, psg. I like it that Milan didn’t get Kobe for €9m. Has anyone here really watch him play? He is raw at best, didn’t do well in ligue 1 last season though in a poor team. I rather go for Moise Caicedo with just €5m Since Man U just pulled out of the deal for lack of working permits. But, I like the lille guy going for 20m

The problem is we can’t close deals. We are getting out bud by clubs smaller than us. Every player we go for is going to be a raw talent bc the owners won’t spend on anyone that is actually a difference maker

Without any depth, we will only reach 4th place at the end of season or even worse.
Milan is still in 3 competitions (Serie A, EL,CopaItalia). How can Pioli cope with those competion without proper depth. Milan will sure be suffered, and I am not surprise if we end up with nothing at the end except we sign new defender,Midfielder, right wing in January

Honestly, Milan needs to do better investment this january concerning defenders and midfielders. Depth is what the team always needs.

Currently the team is playing backup players and we paid for it not having enough players to cover positions in demand. I hope the squad gets a depth boost this month. Adding to the injury list is just what Milan need right now (sarcasm).

Don’t read into too much transfer rumours because that is all to blow up internet traffic and grab your attention. Trust that the management know whp to bring in.
