Report: Milan offer €15m for Simakan but Strasbourg want €20m, Toulouse demand €10m for midfielder Koné

Milan are looking for reinforcements in defense and midfield and France is the place where their targets play.

The Rossoneri are top of the Serie A table after 15 games but it’s clear that the squad needs to be strengthened if Stefano Pioli wants to finish the season in the Top 4 or even make a real run for the Scudetto.

Milan have known since the summer mercato that they need another center back and when the January transfer reopened this season, they got back to pursuing the same main target.

This target is Mohamed Simakan, the 20-year-old defender of Strasbourg, who can play at the center of defense and also as a right back. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, Milan are offering €15m plus bonuses for Simakan but Strasbourg demand €20m plus bonuses for him.

The youngster, who’s already played 42 Ligue 1 matches in his career, is considered a real talent in France and RB Leipzig have also shown interest in him as they view him as a replacement for Dayot Upamecano. It is believed that personal terms have long been agreed between Milan and Simakan and the Rossoneri are ready to give the 1.87m-tall defender a five-year contract.

Milan are also looking for a new midfielder, one who can play in the center to add more quantity and quality. The player the Rossoneri want most, according to Di Marzio and others, is Kouadio Koné. The 19-year-old, who plays in Ligue 2 with Toulouse, is valued at €10m while the Diavolo offer €5-6m.

There is therefore an economic gap between Milan and both Strasbourg and Toulouse, and it remains to be seen if Paolo Maldini and co. will be able to bridge the gap and strengthen Pioli’s squad.

I hope Simakan’s deal doesn’t go through. Milan should try to get Lovato instead

If you have seen Simakan play you won’t say this, but I think Maldini wants to get both of them and let go of two defenders.

we have 3 CBs already: Romagnoli, Kjaer, Gabbia. Why would we buy both Simakan and Lovato? IMO, we should buy one of them who would then would become n3 in line, then in the summer we should go for either Kabak or Milenkovic and loan either one of the n3 or Gabbia for 1 season and when Kjaer contract will expire in 2022, we will have CB line up of Romagnoli, Kabak/Milenkovic, Simakan/Lovato, Gabbia.

Lovato is not that good. Kabak and Milenkovic would be better but Milenkovic is to expensive and Kabak dosn’t want to play in Italy he said he prefers England. Simak is the best option at the moment.

I prefer Simakan than Kabak cause I’ve watched both. Maldini is right for going for Simakan. He knows what he’s doing bro

Just personal preference, I feel Kabak is more proven, but Simakan is a good player

I understand what you are saying. Kabak plays in a stronger league so you are right, he is more proven. But Simakan style is very simmilar to Kabak tho, i think he will do just as good in a better league.

Well, what more can I say, wishing him the very best here.
I never heard of Saelsmakers before he joined us though.

Off topic:

Karagümrükspor, a Turkish team has hired Borini, Biglia and Bertolacci, the team is sitting at 8th place in the league. I’ll let that sink in…

Bertolacci and Borini just arrived there, so them being n8 isn’t quite fair on them.

20M-Simakan: overprice!!! I swear!!! He’s young, has some talents (unwarranted), but he has just been a rotation in lower league. With that sums of money, we can easily take 1 young and talent Italian CB (like Lovato), or 1 older (23-26y.o) with full experience in Serie A. Forza Milan!

Simakan current market value is 15mil so 20mil is not really overpriced. Lovato market value is 7mil, paying 20mil for 7mil player is overpriced. Look at their higlights and you will see why Simakan is worth double then Lovato. There is no other CB’s that fill our criteria for that price really. Bologna wants 25mil fot Tomiyasu and Fiorentina wants 40mil for Milenkovic, Kabak dos not want to play in Italy… This is the best option for us.

hopefully Maldini can get a double deal with Verona for Lovato and Zaccagni. rumor says he’s trying to insert Duarte in the deal, maybe 20-25M + Duarte for the two, with Zaccagni staying there until June?

cuadrado and alex sandro wont play tomorrow as they have contracted covid19, hopefully they get well soon but glad we doesnt have to deal with them tomorrow. Dybala also has a fever so seems unlikely tp play as well. Juventus wont leave turin untill tomorrow morning as they propably need to have some further tests so lets hope we with our injury stricken squad still can capitalize on their current misfortune.

if they have at least 13 or 14 available players including a GK, then they are forced to play so hopefully they will have the said minimum.

Yeah but even if they didnt have enough players available cancelation could even be benefitial in regard of us currently missing benacer, zlatan, gabbia, (saelemaekers/castilejo?) and potentially also having some new aquisitions in the squad by then. Anyways i hope we do play tomorrow and win it. When that is said even if we lose or draw it isnt really the end of the world either as we would at worst case scenario be 2 points behind inter and i would actually be more worried about the players reactions afterwards as this streak of not losing is helpfull in them… Read more »

Yeah lets hope it goes well and even if it doesnt go our way im sure we will put in a good perfomance of never giving up. Anyways i think it will be a close game with us hopefully winning a small 2-1 victory.

edit: freaking bs. rebic and krunic is out as they have contracted covid19. It will be an uphill battle then,

If we loose against Juve tonight, we still have one match each against Juve and Inter. We can still beat them on next match, but hope Ibra and other key players available.

Gazidis is notorious for being a very shrewd negotiator. However, we know Milan needs depth right now. Let’s bring these deals home. We have the money. Let’s spend it.
