Simon Kjær spoke briefly to MilanTV after the win over Brescia, saying ‘this year’s pre-season is very strange’.
Kjær played today in the 3-1 win over Brescia at Milanello and it was his first match with Milan since the end of the last season, as he was with the Denmark national team in the rest of the friendlies.
Simon looked solid as usual and seemed ready for Thurday’s match against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium.
“I’m always very happy to go to the national team and really happy when I come back here,” he told MilanTV. “This year’s pre-season is very strange, so I knew it was very important to come back to the team, this is my only game before Thursday’s seasonal debut, so I’m happy to be here.
“Gabbia? It’s always important especially for central defenders, to know and understand each other. However, we ended last season playing together so we know each other and it’s always a pleasure to play with Gabbia [smiles].
“Our objective? It is to always improve and win our upcoming matches. We start on Thursday, we finished well last season and we need to pick up where we left off.”
