Gabbia, Biglia, and Laxalt are key tonight for our right side, hope they can step up to the occasion.

Let’s win this

Laxalt speed is very helpful if we use him right (like this match). He is versatile and able to play as leftback, left winger, center midfielder and right attacking winger. I think we should keep him.

Biglia is costing us big time. He lost the ball very easy for Atalanta’s equalizer.

biglia caused penalty and lost the ball easily that lead to counter attack that resulted in goal. tf is wrong with this grandpa

Biglia tried to ruin our game with penalty. He failed. He tried again and he succeeded! Why he is still playing for us? We have Krunic, Bresciani, Paqueta who are able to play in that position. I’m disappointed at Pioli

Biglia is such a liability! He’s leaving large spaces in the midfield. Was the cause of the equaliser

Good first half by the boys considering the shaky lineup. Atalanta were the better team, but not by much. Biglia is too slow on defense, and him and Kessie are loosing the midfield battle. Gabbia had some trouble with Zapata, and Calabria’s side was vulnerable, but Kjaer and Donna look great as usual. Zlatan is having a decent game, while Rebic looks a little rusty but still displaying the same level of tenacity we’re used to. Salesmaker is barely helping in attack, while Hakan is reliving his fiery form since the lockdown. I think replacing Biglia should be the first… Read more »

I hope Pioli sub Biglia at half time. I can’t stand seeing him on the pitch or on the bench. Milan should just cancel his contract. Smh

goddammit john malkovich, why didnt u sub off saladmaker for leao? rebic should play as inverted rw like robben. whats so special about saladmaker anyway? his pressing?

Yeah, I don’t know why Rebic and Leao are not paired up more often at the opposite wings. Leao struggles at the right, but Rebic played there both for Frankfurt and Croatia. The guy can do anything up front, so why not?

correctamundo mate. rebic played so well as rw with croatia in wc ‘18. they both are fast, skilled and have a knack of scoring. they could be deadline together. samu is way too lightweight

samu is good dribbler but he’s too skinny for a modern footballer, especially for a serie a footballer. also, he looked rusty afer his injury. pioli shouldn’t have played him in a match of this intensity right away

Considering this line-up, this a great result, we are still in the run for 5th. Who would have guess this result with that 11 pre-pandemia

Good result considering no Theo, no Bennaser, and no Romag. The latter was not missed that much, mostly due to Kjaer being rock solid as usual, and Laxalt also did a decent job covering for Theo. But we rarely played through midfield, and our pressing up front was lackluster.

I think Leao and mostly Paquetta deserve more minutes, especially in a match were so much of our talent is out.

Worst players: Biglia & Alexis
Best players: Donna, Hakan, Kjaer, Laxalt, Bona, Kessie

Bonaventora is half the player he was but half of bona is still better than most of our attacking players.

I know Zlatan is an amazing player but I still believe we should move on and let younger players take his place. Ibra is bigger than Pioli and that’s why he is afraid to take him off. We should sign a proven & In form striker.

Gabbia should improve his attacking skills. Lots of back passes to donna. Kjaer is an example of how our younger defenders (including Romagnoli) should play.

Gabbia was tasked to defend agaist Zapata, that man is a beast. The whole team deserves praise.

Calabria needs to see C.Zapata’s therapist to improve on his concentration, otherwise he did what he physically could.

Biglia could’ve done really bad, the years and his lack of playtime is clear, but he also did a decent job against a crushing Atalanta. Does not deserves the extension but otherwise a dignified performance.

Rebic is doing 90% of the running Ibra is setting up the play. Saelesmaekers needs to do much much more. The right flank is weak.

I didn’t mention any names! If it was up to me, I would have signed Auba Imobile, Belotti, Zapata, or any other striker with at least 20 goals in pas season. Ibra az in amazing player but he is such a short term solution. What if he get injured again? With Ibra in our squad, no top striker will join us because they would be bench warmers. I don’t have any problems with signing 31 years old like Kjaer but ibra is Soon to be 39 but he will not accept to be on the bench.

no way milan can afford auba now. immobile cant play as lone st because he’s classic #9. zapata is good but i dont think atalanta will let him go for <60m thus milan cant afford him.
ibra took milan from bottom half of the table to fighting for 5th place. only full on fucking fuckwits would say milan should get rid of him

well, that was admirable performance by milan considering the injuries and suspensions. it wasnt pretty but at least they put up better fight than last time, and they didnt need controverial penalties just to get a draw a la rube. its very nice to see the armband on donna. like i said back then, i think donna is more of capt material than good boyscout romag. great save to deny the penalty and overall good performance by donna. the defense’s surprisingly solid, with kjaer channeling his inner nesta anticipating, blocking, sweeping and marshalling his backline. calabria maybe could’ve done better… Read more »

Agree my friend, the match wasn’t pretty to watch but the boys did well. They will be entering the pre-season with confidence.

Calhanoglu on Milan has been inconsistent, but right now he seema to be a keeper. What do you think of him? Sell or keep?

Free role attacking mid? How would he deployed in your idea of flat 442? 4411 behind Rebic/Leao?

Can this kind of performances from Calhanoglu change Bennassie mid to a 3 man midfield?

What a nice headache to have for Rangnick

I’m torn on keeping Calhanoglu. Word is he doesn’t want to resign past next year and I think if we switch to 4-4-2 he’ll be out of position on the wing. He’s great as AM in 4-2-3-1 but seems out of place in other positions. Tough decisions to be made this summer

no way milan should sell hakan mate. players tend to play well when the coach plays them in their prefered positions (well, duh). sounds like a no brainer but the fact is it took so long for milan coaches to even play kessie and hakan in their prefered positions. ben won afcon and became mvp playing as left mezz’ala so 4-3-1-2 with kessie as dm, ben as left mezz’ala, paqueta as right mezz, hakan as 3/4ista supporting rebic/leao – ibra would be fantastic i believe. 4-4-1-1 is actually 4-2-3-1 with more defensive side mf so when milan play hakan as… Read more »

Gabbia played a good safe game tonight. He needs more playing time to get consistency but today he showed he can play in big games. Biglia and Calabria though….Jesus Christ. Calabria needs to understand you can’t allow your marker to be goal side of you! Especially zapata. It happened too many times and biglia is soooo weak. When he loses the ball he can’t recover! Also the subs today I think we’re wrong. Salemakers should hav exams off for leao. We might have got 1 of those goal chances he missed. Outside of that, we played good and we played… Read more »

I really love the way this team plays now. The confidence is infectious and it’s a testament to the Maldini, Pioli, and Zlatan. If you don’t believe Pioli has anything to do with this turn around, go back and watch what this Atalanta team did to Juventus 2 weeks ago; complete domination which was ruined by 2 free penalties to Juve to save them as per usual Serie A fashion. Now on to what I saw in today’s match. Milan started off quite shaky due to several integral players missing but by the second half were really the only team… Read more »

nice assessment mate, i mostly agree but no way saladmaker performed well last night. if ur rw and ur best contribution is marking and closing down opponents’ lw then u know u its not ur day. figo didnt win ballon d’or because he was good at marking rivaldo, lizarazu or vicente. saladmaker pressing game is good and he’s got guts and tenacity but often he cant even do simple things right, like releasing calabria with his through ball. there was moment when he could’ve released calabria free on right flank by simple pass but he chose to do fancy totti-esque… Read more »

Thank you! I understand what you’re saying but that might be too high of an expectation. He’s done better in past matches but you must commend how he held Papu defensively; I don’t necessarily think that yesterday especially he could’ve roamed forward and left Calabria alone against that Atalanta left wing and forwards. Atalanta also has very fast players and they too press the entire match which can make a young player prone to mistakes (I think Laxalt did what was asked of him yesterday as well but at one point I remember asking myself if he’s completed a singled… Read more »

yeah i feel u mate. dont get me wrong, i really saladmaker; young, fast, tenacious, always does simple, basic things right and most importantly, plenty of rooms for improvement. saladmaker is more effective than samu because while he rarely beats his marker, he knows when to pass forward/diagonally to start attack or backwards/sideways to maintain possession. he’s stronger too, so yeah i consider him good player. usually he has presence on right flank because of his positioning, passing and speed but on that particular night, he didnt. sure he did ok covering or even double teaming papu (papu always performs… Read more »
