sassuolo just drew vs 10 man cagliari and napoli and roma will face tough opponents tomorrow so its time for milan to show character and seize the opportunity to strengthen their position in the table. i hope everyone, including calabria, gives their best. i also hope romag wont pick another yellow before atalanta match.

p.s. auba just scored vs man city. funny that fatsobellix had the audacity to talk shit about maldini when he couldnt get auba even with >200m war chest. damn shame

Seeing statistics of Milan in recent years , Bologna shouldn’t be considered an easy team to dominate by us as now we’re completely dominant.. I’m afraid it’s too soon to say and I hope not being wrong .. but I have the feeling MILAN is on the way to be BACK again!! V

Pioli is doing a great job and the team has improved a lot but Rangnick appointment goes beyond coaching the team.

Pioli was only signed for 6 months. Just like everyone I only hope for the best that it works out with Rangnick.

Milan took a BIG risk with appointing Capello after Sacchi dominated Europe with back to back Champions League win and it work out great for Capello who was just a coach for our primavera youth team before coaching Milan.

I get you but my worry is that he is not only hired for coaching the team, he have other responsibilities. If he is not doing well on the field he will be given longer time in the hope that he will finally come good and that might not be the case and the season will be long gone for us.

sacchi’s milan were on a definite decline in terms of results and performance quality. he also didnt get along with san marco hence he was rightfully sacked. current milan are actually on the rise at long last so its incredibly unfair to dismiss pioli. remember how madrid fired del bosque literally a day after madrid won la liga? well, it took madrid 4 yrs to get back to where del bosque left them off

I agree. It would definitely be unfair to Pioli. I just hope it goes well and hopefully Rangnick can build on the work of Pioli and his staff. So I will have to think positive but I do feel some way for Pioli to be honest.

correctamundo mate. ibra’s the literal playmaker of milan tonite dropping deep to receive the ball but surely kris “better than inzaghi” would do better job than ibra. i mean, defenders literally opened the space for bennacer to score out of pure fear of ibra

Well pal, Milan was closer to relegation than Europa League before the outbreak. I would say this crazy thing, but Milan is the second best team in terms of consistence after Real Madrid.

Ibra arrived and Milan played completely different, however, after the derby Milan dropped points against Fiorentina and Genoa. Situation looked really bad.

Let’s be objective here, Ibra and the team deserves all the respect, Pioli is doing good too, but I say Milan needs Ibra more than it needs Pioli

ibra misplaced a lot of passes because he’s tired and because him and rebic were the only 2 who attempted to pull a nice tiki taka-esque passing on regular basis. others like hakan, ben, kessie etc chose to play it safe. but the truth is ibra was the playmaker pulling the strings from the mf

Raven

I wouldn’t say tired, his passes were accurate in direction, but too weak. He is adapting to that playmaking role. As you say, defenders don’t give him any space, so he is doing a great job allowing everyone get into scoring position. Rebic is a beast, but he and calhanoglu depend on Ibra.

Only Higuaín did that playmaking role effectively. We need Zlatan for the next season, this team could flop without him.

he rarely misplaced passes in 1st half but he messed up his pass and move routine in 2nd half so yeah i think stamina had a lot to do with it.
he’s not adapting to that playmaker role, thats the way he’s always played. have u seen him at inter or psg, or his first tenure at milan?
higuain is avg playmaking st. the only complete st who’s on par with (or even better than) ibra are/were cantona, baggio, del piero, benzema, suarez, romario and especially ronaldo fenomeno. higuain barely plays at juve now

MIlan vs Atalanta is the match that will define this season. It’s the final test for this team. How will the coach and players approach the game? Will they be shy, try to not concede and counter attack? Or will they look at the color of the glorious Milan shirt and say who the fuck is Atalanta and proceed to show them how its done?

atalanta, especially their defense, looked weak vs verona. milan can definitely beat them. i hope for atalanta’s and serie a’s sake they can regain their form vs psg next month though.
if milan win vs sassuolo then they’ll finish serie a in 7th at worst which means they’ll qf for europa league play off round therefore while beating atalanta would be great statement of intent that milan are back, beating sassuolo is much more important

Rangnick will build from Pioli’s foundation. It is not the same scenario as when Giampaolo took over from Gattuso. Giampaolo completely tried to change the team formation to suit his style. A total revolution.

This will be an “evolution” under Rangnick who is currently studying how Pioli has the team playing according to reports. He’s also studying Italian.

Honestly, we can wonder if there isn’t a gentleman’s pack between the coaches, that switch from 442 to 4231, and the new team after the break makes me wonder.   4231 is german football. Milan must be always an attacking team.   In regards to Gattuso-Giampaolo:   I never understood the disaster… Rino played possession based football, his Napoli is very similar. Giampaolo arrived to change that mentality, to be more vertical.   What he actually implemented was possession based football, but the player passed the ball horizontally, Rino used diagonals. Giampaolo’s flop is also something that makes me wear… Read more »

The rumors are true according to Rangnick’s agent. This a sensible decision in the end.

Milan and Ralf Rangnick have agreed that now is not the right time to work together,” he told Bild.
“For this reason, and taking into consideration the good results under Stefano Pioli, it was decided that Rangnick would not take on a role at Milan.”

Totally understand but now Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting it and he’s a very reliable source. I think it is the right decision in the end because next season will start in September. So there’s little to no time for Rangnick to work with the team before the season starts. Besides Pioli contract also has a clause that states that if he qualifies for European competition his contract will run until 2021. So if Milan qualifies for Europa League and replace Pioli with Rangnick we will be paying 3 coaches salaries including Giampaolo. That makes absolutely no sense. Now I’m… Read more »

Agreed. My only concern is that we don’t go back to signing players over 30 like Modric, Mandzukic and Giroud.

Pioli has done a great job against difficult teams but for next season we need quality reinforcement like Tonali, Castrovilli, Depay, Schick, Kambulla

Our team has done well during the COVID-19 pandemic because we have a young squad that is fit.

Teams like Lazio, Inter and Juventus have struggled playing a game every 3 days.

So Milan must sign quality young players not older than 26.
