We can beat Juventus. The last 2 games in the Coppa Italia showed that we are not inferior in terms of being dominated by them on the pitch.

On paper they are stronger especially their bench but we have players like Rebić and Bonaventura who can be a game changer.

We still have a good chance of causing an upset if we play to our level as we did against Roma and Lazio.

Two regrettable goals, especially the second one which put a huge question mark on the “perfect partnership” of Romag and Kaejer.

But I’m loving our spirit after going two down. Football is very much psychological, and with this mentality we can finally start moving forward. Keep on fighting boys – if you’re going to die, die with your boots on.

I saw Gabriel against Lazio, a superb save and stupid mistakes everywhere.

Petagna needed 8 years to be decent? Calabria is good, like Laxalt, they are good for back up.

I would give Calabria another season to prove his worth, if he is not better than Conti then I would be OK with him leaving.

well, gabriel had bad day but still he won. he’s clumsy but a very good shotstopper just like dida. and he’s young.
petagna “only” needed 3-4 years to settle in serie a. he’s no del piero but still solid st, literally and figuratively. he’s scored more than kalinimovic at least.
watching calabria should be considered potential hazard to people with heart conditions. there should be disclaimer or something

Silly mistake by the two CB. We need a CB who is really good in the air. It’s not Romag and he has not good pace either.

Milan10

Reply to  Agustinar

romag – kjaer ARE good in the air mate. its just that in that particular moment that lead to penaldo’s goal they both failed to read the trajectory of the ball and most importantly, failed to communicate with each other. thats normal when defenders play vs fearsome attacker like penaldo. thats also why defenders commit stupid handballs and own goals like spal defender did last weekend

It was Kjaer who blocked Romag movement. Romag must find a partner who either really good in the air or a fighter with speed who do the dirty work

The only problem in the Romag-Kjaer partnership is that they are slow. However they read the game perfectly, I say we have a solid partnership in the back for at least 3 years.

Kjaer long passes are a joy to watch, specially with Rebic and Leao who are very fast.

Continuity is a must for them, but it’s not like Milan can’t buy a faster, taller CB for back up and teams with faster attackers.

Fans who always criticize pioli for playing Hakan now must understand that why we need Hakan at the center to at least have a try shot on/off target(1st half vs 2nd half).. btw I don’t say Hakan is fantastic player but for sure he’s our only option to make smooth playing from defense to attack , he’s involved all time in the center either he has ball or not .. moreover I like how calm our players are on the pitch, no rush, no emotion only playing with patience

That’s a good observation and I agree. Milan players look fitter and better than most teams especially in the final 20-25mins. Only Atalanta look as sharp as us. It will be interesting when we play them. Another observation is our pressing and movement on and off the ball. We are out scoring our opponents and conceding less goals like 15-5. Only Atalanta have a better goals per game ratio. If we should look back at Giampaolo’s era and when Pioli took over in October we were struggling to score goals and create chances. Pioli was ONLY hired on a 6month contract until the end of the season. He was never hired to be a permanent coach. I don’t like the idea of changing coaches either and I give Pioli credit for the job he has done and I agree, it will be hard to see him leave but that decision was made to get Rangnick around Dec/Jan. Rangnick is getting a solid team to build on unlike the situation with Giampaolo who uses a totally different formation and tactics. So not much will change with the team formation and player selection. Bonaventura, Biglia,… Read more »

Man, it’s rumored that Milan will get €85m for the mercato. Frankfurt are asking 40 for Rebic, I say get Silva back and we are good to go. A loan striker is still needed for depth. I dont know of krunic can be a backup for kessie-bennacer. I think a defensive mid is still needed. Hakan or Paqueta might not adapt to that role of needed. Rebic loan is a two years contract. We still have a whole year to decide. We have a good team. Kjaer should be signed as you said. He is probably our best defender. Instead of a revolution, we should spend our money on one or two stars. Pobega and Bresciani plus Krunic would be enough for defensive midfield area. I would love to have Silva back too.

Thanks for the clarification. There are rumors about Milan in the run for Tonalli, that’s fine, but for 442 or 4231 means benching Kessie or Bennacer. I think with FFP Tonalli might not be the best move, considering what this team needs. I would rather spend on Chiesa or Bernardeschi

I agree with most of what you said except for Andre Silva and Krunic. I would rather have Piatek back over Silva but we should move on from these strikers. We have been linked to Schick and Milik and I’m not sure that they are an upgrade from Silva or Piatek. Jovic or a young vladhovic and Samarcca would be better than Andre Silva. Krunic is a decent backup for Bennacer not Kessie. We also have Brescianini and Pobega so we don’t need to spend crazy for Tonali or Bakayoko. Every new coach means we are starting from scratch. Same mistake over and over. I don’t care if they brought Pioli for 3, 6 or 9 month. He is doing a great job. Instead of relying on a fantasy, we should give credit and new contract to people who are actually making us progress. New coach is a new gamble. Yes I agree. New coaches are always a gamble. Especially if they don’t play the same formation which was the case with Gattuso (433) and Giampaolo (4312). Pioli deploys 4231 or 442. Similar to Rangnick style. Yes Rangnick is a risk but Milan has plans that far exceeds the coaching of the team. It would be good if Rangnick and Pioli could work together as director and as coach but I highly doubt that will happen. no no mate, i meant his salary for his extended contract from july – august is “just” 90k $ per week. his initial salary from dec – june was around 3m – 3.5m nett meaning around 6m a year like donna. i read it somewhere on twitter news. probably not reliable but considering ibra made 3m/6 months meaning around 110k/week i think 90k/week for his extended stay aint too far fetched. my point is, nazidis broke the trust first. in business or mgmt, trust is #1 value. u cant do what nazidis did and expect no responses. boban shouldn’t have… Read more »

Ah ok my bad then well even if its isnt the most reliable source i agree it would still seem more plausible then.
If he infact has talked with the management in regard of the interview i suppose he might have a case but otherwise not so much.
Likewise to you.

Even an ageing cavanni would still make more sense but then again his salary would most likely become an obstacle and combine that with us not playing cl i dont see that happening. If rangnick joins us that would also talk against a move because he prefers young players he can mold into the players he can use in his tactics and its harder to learn an old dog new tricks.

correctamundo mate, cavani would be perfect. he has shown at psg that he could also be modern st playing as lw to accomodate ibra. mandzukic, dzeko, cavani, giroud are not as complete as benzema/ibra but they can play as lone st due to their passing ability, at least compared to kalinic, cutrone, andre silva.
sadly i dont think cavani will come though

Ronaldo’s goal reminds me to Kaka’s goal against MU.

lol no. penaldo just took advantage of defensive error while kaka deliberately controlled the ball in such way that it confused utd defenders. big difference

For those of you who think Gazidis will run Milan like Arsenal please think again and read below as Milan management are on mission emulate Liverpool not Arsenal: “ AC Milan have revealed they have been in discussions with Liverpool as they seek to emulate the Reds’ successful on and off field model.” “Milan’s chief revenue officer Casper Stylsvig told Associated Press (via InsideFutbol ) that the Anfield model is what they are now aspiring to. He said: “We talked to Liverpool because they followed the same path we are going through now.“ “Four, five years ago, nobody considered Liverpool… Read more »

there are similarities yes; the near bankruptcy and the hostile takeover, the german coach, the competent sd (liverpool have the fantastic michael edwards). but the similarities end there. first of all, last decade rangnick only acted as coach in 3 separate seasons. u cant compare that to klopp who won bundesliga twice and reached ucl final beating madrid in the process. go check rangnick’s points per game and compare it with klopp’s and the likes of spalletti’s to gain better perspective. regarding the owners, elliott is vulture fund who buy (near) bankrupt institutions, control them and then sell at much… Read more »

It took Klopp 4yrs to change Liverpool into a winning team. Klopp impact was not overnight. In addition, Klopp totally change the majority of the players that were under Brendan Rogers. That was a total REVOLUTION under Klopp. Rangnick appoint will be an “EVOLUTION” as he will build on the foundation that Pioli is laying now with our current players. The formation 442/4321 and style of play will improve with Rangnick’s gegenpressing. So to compare Klopp situation with Rangnick’s is pretty illogical. Regardless if Klopp won the Bundesliga with Dortmund. Rangnick took RB Leipzig from the 4th division to 2nd… Read more »

“It took Klopp 4yrs to change Liverpool into a winning team. Klopp impact was not overnight.” yes and it took fenway 10 years to make liverpool win again, thats exactly my point. can elliott even stay as milan owners for 10 yrs to see out their project? i highly doubt it because theyre not sports investment group like fenway. “So to compare Klopp situation with Rangnick’s is pretty illogical. Regardless if Klopp won the Bundesliga with Dortmund.” well, u and the newswriters u quote from did. if rangnick uses transfer fund wisely and brings 2-3 good players then yes its… Read more »

why is it illogical? didnt articles u quote from liken milan evolution with liverpool’s? klopp didnt do revolution right from the start, he did it gradually as years go by. what makes u think rangnick wont do that, especially if nazidis cant keep milan young stars like ben, theo, leao and donna at milan? fenway are not the same with elliott; they actually are willing to spend. rangnick has been around for a while hence he’s not a rookie but last decade he coached for 3 seasons winning dfb pokal at max with little help from supermaneuer and raul. he’s… Read more »

Only time will tell if you are right but I honestly believe Milan is heading in the right direction with Rangnick and it won’t be a disaster like when we transition from Gattuso to Giampaolo.

rangnick will do much better than inzaghi, broccoli, morontella, giamfanculo hell even miha and rino. thats for damn sure. but emulating liverpool? fenway spent 10 years rebuilding liverpool. will elliott still own milan 5 yrs from now? will rangnick win ucl and serie a for milan? i highly doubt it

with ibra: avg 1.9 point. without: 1.4. had nazidis not vetoed the move, ibra could’ve arrived way sooner and milan would be higher in the table. its simple math really
