Why benched the in form paqueta

I’m wondering the same thing. I don’t get it. Apart from the Leece game Bonaventura has not played well and was very ineffective and inefficient. He is also leaving Milan. No point in using him. His mind is elsewhere and his days are behind him.

Agreed. I think he just wants to mess things up for Milan before he leaves. He is
finished already. He is only mad that there is nothing he can to keep his job. So now he just wants to get fired quickly to get it over with. IMAO

I seriously doubt any coach that would still have to go out looking for a job afterwards would do what you are suggesting because that pretty much would mean they would be deemed untrustworthy and just as well could quit the game after such actions.

Personally i have no glaring issues with this lineup but obviously we can allways question some decisions but i think we will have a good chance for points today regardless whether paqueta or bonaventura would start behind the forward. We need squad rotation and with a game soon against juve and 8 more in the next month we need to utilize the squad the best way possible. Yes he played good in last game but im sure he would also get a far rougher treatment from a side of fairly big statured players, so maybe the plan is to field… Read more »

Great first half by the boys, even though the penalty was questionable imo. Kessie and Bennaser look good, and Hakan scored a great goal before limping off the field. Zlatan looks a bit rusty and tired, and Jack is not involved enough.

All and all great result, but we should be wary of the second half since Lazio have much more to offer than what we just saw.

great 1st half indeed. although i disagree with u. it was clear handball by nazio’s defender. man utd conceded penalty for way less clear handball than that earlier tonite. and while bonad10nho was clearly overshadowed by both saladmaker and hakan, he did well and definitely was involved enough in keeping possession. all in all, good stuff by milan so far. lets just hope nazio wont pull an inter on milan

Not sure what it was about but maybe he was angry about the treatment he got durring the game as he did get manhandled a few times but if so he really should be profesional enough and realize it could escalate the situation after lazio propably threw away their chance to win serie a and potential hurt himself and his team.

Milan kept a clean sheet against Roma and Lazio because of Romagnoli, Kjær, Bennacer and Kessie. They did the same against Juventus as well in the Coppa Italia. Our game against SPAL was bad because Kjær was not playing. Gabbia made mistakes on the first and second goal. On the first goal he didn’t clear the ball properly and on the 2nd goal he didn’t close down the space between Floccari which gave him time to take the shot. Gabbia needs to be loaned out. I disagree. Milan won the game in midfield thanks to Bennacer and MOTM Kessie.

Immobile would have been a big plus for Lazio but I highly doubt he would have got the better of Kjær and Romagnoli who are solid as a rock.

Luis Alberto, Joaquin Correa, Parolo and Milenkovic-Savic were completely ineffective because of our best core players- Romagnoli, Kjær, Bennacer and Kessie.

We would still won even if Lazio had Caicedo, Immobile and Lulić. Lazio lost the game in midfield and defense.

But It worries me, seeing players follow Pioli and in few weeks time chances are we will have another year zero with new coach, new philosophy and with this team picking it again from the scratch. Rangnick and his philosopohy sounds attractive to me but killing the momentum again… The guy is a professor, what if he turns out to be another Giampaolo? Milan didn’t invest in Giampaolo’s philosophy and that’s why he failed. Milan didn’t give the players he needed to play 4312. Which begs to question why they hired him knowing that the current team is not suited to his style of play and gameplan. Giampaolo failure is a result of Maldini and Boban poor planning and poor mercato. I felt bad for Giampaolo and I can’t blame him for his bad experience at Milan. Rangnick’s style of play is suitable for our current team. His teams typically blame a variety of formations between 442, 433 and 4231. Rangnick’s gegenpressing will… Read more »

well its been a good giornata for milan; won convincingly while rivals like verona, parma and roma dropped points. inter also pulled a milan and had 2nd half colossal meltdown after fairly nice 1st half. milan cant be complacent though because if theres one thing is true in post pandemic football, its that teams can win convincingly one day and then get completely screwed 3 days later. so far only strong traditional teams like juve, madrid and bayern can avoid extreme turmoil. i hope milan will follow their footsteps and finish the season on a high note

Ralf Rangnick will stabilize Milan as he will manage the team, Player recruitment, nutrition staff and medical staff.
