The team looks lost since Floccari’s goal, Paqueta is the only one doing a decent job, Saelesmaekers has no business over there.

Pioli needs to bench one of Calabria or salesmakers and send Ibra. Or field Bonaventura and keep the same formation.

“Or field Bonaventura and keep the same formation.” or he could use his brain for once and play leao as st in 4-4-2 set up, which he did, so milan could avoid embarassing lost, which they did

No my dear friend, the formation did nothing. He had an amazing performance but the second goal is the definition of luck.

The first goal was also lucky, the defender got confused and let the ball go through .

Even still, 442 needs wide men, which we don’t have

whoa whoa, calm ur tits mate “the formation did nothing.” of course it and the espulso/red card did. u may call it luck but the fact is the goals, hakan’s disallowed goal and header from saladmaker were results from crossings from the flanks. spal defenders had trouble marking milan players because there were more than one player to mark, as opposed to when milan only had 1 st in the box in 4-2-3-1 set up. like i said way back, milan should stick to 4-4-2 and long ball + crossing strategy becuase they dont have bona fide playmaker like papu… Read more »

So today is not luck but the whole last season was.

Crossing was everything Milan do throughout the match, Rebic had to go wide to touch the ball. Formation did not changed that.

I agree, 442 looked better, and should be our main formation.

Leao shut my mouth today, his positioning was excellent, he showed hunger.

“4-4-2 needs wide men” rebic, leao, bona, paqueta, hell even laxalt (who has better crossing ability than theo) and samu can play lm. saladmaker, samu, maldini jr can play rm. shame that napoli are gonna hijack szoboszlai otherwise milan could have another wide playmaker. meanwhile inter won 6-0 and still they try to snap up hakimi AND tonali

Rebic, needed as a ST. Leao, Needed as a ST Bona too slow Paqueta maybe, today he showed that he needs to play in the middle more often. Laxalt is a great winger, him and theo can dominate lesser teams.   Samu crappy inverted winger, we sold Suso for less, I highly doubt that he can adapt to LM, he is a one trick pony. Saeslmakers, did well as a RB, horrible as a wide attacker Maldini Jr IDK, wingers needs to be fast, the boy seems like a central midfielder, too slow for his age.     We don’t… Read more »

actually, the way rebic – leao exchange lm/ss positions earlier this year was something to behold. hell, the way milan players trade passes that lead to 2nd goal last night was nice too. i think they have what it takes to be strong on the flanks.
samu/saladmaker – bennassie – rebic/leao supporting ibra – leao/rebic is milan’s best bet. paqueta, hakan and krunic can be bennassie’s deputy for when milan need to defend/attack more. forget about how serious clubs need 4 st because its far too late to fix it now.

9 games, Ibra can’t play them all, that’s why I wouldn’t use Leao as a winger. We need him as our third ST.   Laxalt and Salesmaekers are not dribblers, they are great when starting from the back and overlapping a LM/RM.   I would deploy a 442 like this.   Theo- Roma- Kjaer- Salesmaekers   Hakan/Bonaventura Bennacer-Kessie Paqueta   Leao Rebic.   While i don’t want inverted wingers, Paqueta and Hakan have skills, adding unpredictability to our play . If the opposition knows that our LM/RM can’t do anything else than running they will double mark Ibra and mark… Read more »

Saelemaekers can dribble, fast and cross with right foot. It’s better to put him as RM. Calabria plays as defensive RB, opposite to Theo. LM Paqueta/Hakan plays to cut inside, shoot from distance or create chances while Theo push upfront. Leao-Rebic is perfect as duo ST. Leao is a dribblers, tall, strong, and able to score with his head while Rebic has the style of Inzaghi who is great in positioning

Dribbling in front of the defense is not the same as dribbling in front of the midfield. Saelesmaekers is a perfect fit as a RB, tall fast good crosser just like Theo.

Having two athletes like our wingbacks, Milan can have wide technical players. Paqueta and Hakan will do great.

This is the price you pay when you are complacent..MIlan players are always fond of this mistake . Because we beat Roma then we think we have done the impossible. What lost concentration momentarily and we paid for it. The only player that has done well in the attack is Paquetá. Calhanoglu play can never be improved. He should just be sold .its annoying seeing him play like he is a leaner !

No, I saw until the end, that’s why I said the referee stopped the game before the 96th minute.

We managed to steal a point for an unlucky situation, yes, Milan were looking for the second goal but at aimless crosses, a stats nerd can tell me how many crosses did Milan attempted in the whole game? is ridiculous.

Since the Allegri’s days, Milan plays better against strong teams. That indicates that is a mental problem of the squad.

Lazio seems to be getting help from the referees. Wait for a PK in the last 10 minutes of the game.

Yesterday’s match sums up nicely why Milan hasn’t played in UCL lately. If you can’t win the worst team in the league even once in a season, you simply don’t deserve to play against the best teams in Europe. Simple as that. The yesterday’s performance was a joke. A very bad one.

9 finals.

Lazio, Juventus, Napoli, Atalanta: If Pioli pulls a Pioli we will get 3 points(Being optimistic here)

Parma Bologna Sassuolo Sampdoria Cagliari. Winning against all, (unlikely) We end the season with 61 pts.

After today’s display, can Pioli lead the team to avoid losing motivation against the top teams, while also maintaining composure against those below us in the table?

This team can still finish 5, if only they know which shirt are they wearing.

Milan has improved under Pioli compared to the horror show under Giampaolo but this team still lacks an identity. Pioli still hasn’t figured that out the best formation for this squad. 442 seems more practical since we can use Laxalt and Conti as wingers. They are poor at defending. Saelemaekers played better at RB than both Calabria and Conti. Especially against a tricky Brazilian winger like Gabriel Strefezza in which he was never beaten and he won every single 1 on 1 against Strefezza. Not gonna happen, he still has a two year contract and milan will have to pay 1/3 that exceeds the 25 mil we paid roma so if we sell him for 50 mil we will only earn 16.6 mil on top of the 25 we invested because we will have to be pay around 8,3 mil to roma. If he ever gets sold you can pretty much expect that milan would want 75-100 mil for him. If not more.
