Mateo Musacchio’s representative has made it clear the defender would like to keep playing for Milan, as the Argentine’s contract expires next year.
The season resumes next month after a long break caused by the Coronavirus (June 12/13), but Milan are already focusing on next season, and there are plans to make another revolution – both in management and in the squad.
One player who may find himself outside of the Milan project next year is Mateo Musacchio, whose contract ends in 2021. It was reported in the media that the Diavolo decided to part ways with the 29-year-old, but his agent, Marcello Lombilla, has stated today that he wants to keep wearing the colors of the Rossoneri.
“We talked to Maldini recently and got some positive feedback,” Lombilla told Gazzetta.it. “That is, Mateo is respected by the club and also by the coach. We’d like to get an offer for a renewal, because Mateo is happy in Milano and at Milan, regardless of everything. In August we’ll see, obviously we also need to find out which management we’ll have to deal with. But the desire would be to stay.”
The defense of Milan may look very different next season: the club has already been linked with a number of center backs and are apparently looking for a new long-term partner for Romagnoli.
