Antonee Robinson from the Championship will replace Ricardo Rodríguez at Milan.

After Ricardo Rodríguez headed to PSV for the second half of the season, Milan have secured the signing of his replacement: Robinson of Wigan Athletic.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio and Milannews.it, Robinson will join Milan on loan with option to buy, which can turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met. The buy-out amount is set at €7m.

The English-born American, who has 7 appearances for the USA National team, played at Wigan Athletic for the past two seasons. The 22-year-old had 51 appearances to his name, and even though his team are in the 22nd place in the English second division, he’s convinced Milan to take him.

Juan Jesus and Matías Viña (and Diego Laxalt) were also targets of Milan but eventually they chose to go for Robinson, who will act as the substitute of Theo Hernández.

Let Maldini and Boban do their job…not all of us were convinced by the signings of Theo, Bennacer or Krunic…fingers crossed

Not really, I think MOST of us were pretty convinced about Theo & Bennaccers signing, especially after the AFCON.

I started watching Milan when they were signing world class quality players in the late 80s to now signing kids nobody even knows about. Smh

Depressing to say the least and I hope these new players can handle the weight and pressure of playing for Milan.

Sad truth right here. We really lost the standards since 2010. The overhaul should start in 2005 latest, starting with projects such as new stadium and building foundations towards selfsufficiency. Instead we were driven by nostalgy, fed with old glory stories from an old fairy tale teller Silvio

Noone belived that will become world clas midfielder when we bring him, everyone thot that Sedorf is over, that Inter screwed us, Sheva was someone one season miracle from Ukrain, and who belived that kid from Sao Paolo payed 8 milions wil become what he is, Paolo atleast prowed that he know to find lb

Patience my friend. We are currently negotiating a club sale with some fashion icons. After we make the sale, we will definitely sign some top brass players.
This guys role is to sub for Theo. And who knows he may prove to be good.

The guy is.a backup to Theo
And he isn’t a bad on either
We need to look in the future now

They are not signing them permanently just loaning them i think… Milan are making space for big signings in the summer thats why they sold Piatek ,Suso and got rid of Borini and Reina Rodriguez cutting down on the wages getting cheap replacements by loaning them with only option to buy… I was critical at first but now it is clear to me that Maldini and Boban knows what they are doing and that they have a plan

Why people are sad/moaning about this signing? He is a strategic signing and will always be a under-study to Theo. Being an American, I totally understand the implication of Milan’s marketing policy here. We do not need more big egos in the dressing room or people with emotional baggage (like Rodriguez)… Forza Milan.

What emotional bagage ? rodriguez might have had his shortcommings as a player in some parts of his game but he has allways behaved professionally to what i know of so please elaborate on what you said as it seems like rather baseless to me.

true, 100 % true Bernhard. People will do anything for likes and for someone to actually notice them, disgusting…

Not that i disagree in general with your comment but in regard of tcl00’s comment i wont jump to conclusion on that as he might just be more well informed or the opposite than i so thats why i asked him to elaborate on the matter. When that is said comments should never be influenced by whether they get up or down votes. My perception of the player though is that he isnt that outspoken in the media and actually seems like a fairly quiet guy behaving profesionally all the time. I believe the reason why he is leaving the… Read more »

Maldini &Borban don’t listen to Conte, need champions to make a real team.
As he said players from cagliari, sasoulo not good enough to make a real team

i know for sure belotti is good enough even for juve. milan should definitely get him in the summer

He actually meant Barella and Sensi are good but not world class and i totally agree with him.

Rosored

Why not try him at left back and push Theo ahead to the left midfield? We don’t have a descent LM right now. Bona is getting old and injury prone and slow. Turkish kebab needs to be sold NOW that his price might be up. We all know he is not reliable. And Leao or Rebic are not LM. They are LW. So why not use Theo there? He is descent in attack and also defense sometimes. Other times this new kid will cover him.

Milan10

hakan is actually good when playing more centrally. he has good passing and decent shot power and accuracy

Agustinar

I agree Theo plays as LM

Nasatik

I also believe we can give that a shot if Antonee Robinson turns out to be decent. Remember Gareth Bale playing as a left back at Totenham and then evolved into an attacking player, especially after his display against inter. But doing that also exposes us because we will not have a back up LB.

Milan10

this is the kinda deals milan need to close. if antonee sucks then milan can send him back. if he turns out good like any other maldini’s captures then milan can buy him permanently. no strings attached, no fuss no muss. absolutely nothing to lose.
also, i really hope that arnault will really have taken over by the time next summer mercato arrives

Nasatik

Agreed at this time of the year we might only sign overrated players, or players with no resale value that we will have trouble getting rid of. These are utility players that are there purely for back up, and if they turn out to be great, that will be amazing, if not they will suffice until the summer…Bobanldini probably working on a huge summer…

Milan spent 90m in the summer but were able to get 20m through the sale of cutrone and other loan they are trying to fix everything to avoid any loss because of FFP, Pls try to think about the financial aspect of the team

Milano dovrebbe assumere Antony e Lizieiro da San Paolo. Da Arrascaeta do Flamengo. Willian Joseph del Real Sociedad, Paulinho del Bayern Leverkusen e Pedro Geromel e Kanneman del Gremio

It’s clear maldini boban dont know what they are doing. No team is selling like a grocery store in January without adequate replacement that’s why winter windows is more difficult. Now Milan only got second or even third tier players as back up. Once theo ibra casti injured then Milan will pay the price.

I for one, believe not replacing Piatek ensures that Leao Rebic Jack Calha all get time maybe even Paqueta. We wouldnt have bought a decent striker, unless you want someone like Petagna, and face the same issues about selling him in the future. I believe if we cannot have players who add value, let’s not do anything. Besides Suso had been replaced by Castillejo. I hope he continues to improve.

We have to play only 18/19 matches this season(all competition)… So i dont think a striker is a must thing to buy…. Now our goal is to reach atleast 4th place… Roma n Atalanta are our rivals at present situation…. I think our currentsquad after joining of Ibrahimovic has the ability to reach the 4th position if there is no fatal injuries of our vital players… We have to realised the FFP, so we shouldn’t blame Maldini n Boban….. Robinson is a strong n speedy LB, he is almost similar to Theo….. So Lets wait n see our future
