Zlatan Ibrahimović was pleased after his first Milan goal after nearly 8 years and said in an interview: ‘My mind is still sharp and the body has to follow’.

The Rossoneri got back to winning ways after two draws and one loss and they did this in large thanks to the contribution on the pitch of Zlatan Ibrahimović.

The Swedish striker played from the start in a 4-4-2 alongside Rafael Leão and the two together gave Milan the three points. Leão scored first in the 46′ minute and then Zlatan doubled the lead of il Diavolo in the 64′ minute. Ibra found the back of the net a second time, but was slightly offside and the goal was annulled. Ibra completed 97 minutes and looked good.

Ibra scored in Serie A and in a Milan jersey for the first time after 7 years and 250 days since he last scored (against Inter in 2012). This goal also makes Ibra the oldest scorer in the current Serie A season as he is 38 years and 100 days old as of this day. He’s become the fifth oldest Serie goal scorer in Milan’s history, behind Billy Costacurta, Paolo Maldini, Filippo Inzaghi and Nils Liedholm.

“It’s important for a striker to always try to stay in front of goal. Every now and then the ball goes in, every now and then it doesn’t… the important thing is that I feel good and then the goals will come. I got a few balls wrong at the start of the game, but I need to play to get in shape,” Ibra, who scored in each of his last five league games against Cagliari, told Sky Italia after the game.

“I said I wanted to celebrate like a God under the Curva? I meant at San Siro, though, not here [smiles]. After every goal I score I celebrate in the same way, it helps me feel alive.

“Pioli said I don’t have 90 minutes in me yet? The coach wants to be careful. I feel good, the coach just wanted to think about by age and see if I needed a rest, but there’s no problem. My mind is still sharp and the body has to follow.

“The formation? We played with two strikers and two wingers to push the whole team further forward, and it went well. We worked on this system all week and we took the three points. This was my second game, the first ended 0-0 with Sampdoria, we have three points here and have to keep working. When you work hard, luck turns your way.

“A renewal? But I think it will be difficult [smiles], I have to win the Scudetto…”

“renewal? But I think it will be difficult [smiles], I have to win the Scudetto…” next season, with allegri on board and proper mercato, why not? Please stay and enjoy football while it lasts with milan ibra

P.s. If winning the scudetto resulted in getting ur head kicked by ibra (see cassano scudetto celebration) then god (read: ibra) knows what he will do to milan players if theyre slacking off

Good job boys. Now Pioli must find solution for LM. Hakan and Bona didn’t look good. Theo might be better as LM so RR take the LB. Samu did very well at RM. Finally Kessie got his best position in Milan. I’m still thinking Borini would be a great addition as a back up for both right and left midfielder.

Milan should definitely explore the option of pushing Hernández further up the pitch as a winger. It worked with Gareth Bale who started out as a LB.

Replace RicRod with a solid LB with Mitchell Dijks and Kurzawa next season.

Sign Politano to replace Suso and sign Rodrigo de Paul to replace Calhanoglu.

Please no Politano, he is not better than Suso.
