Ricardo Rodríguez’s agent, Di Domenico: “He’s never run away from difficulties, the rumors are media speculations”

Ricardo Rodríguez has stated that he wants to play, but his agent claims there is no reason to panic at the moment.

Summer signing Theo Hernández was preferred over Ricardo Rodríguez in the left-back position in the last three rounds of Serie A. The Frenchman even scored in the win over Genoa last week, while the Swiss was looking from the bench.

Swiss daily Blick reported this week that Rodríguez could leave Milan and Atlético Madrid, Schalke, Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Roma have been mentioned as admirers.

“I didn’t play for three games, but it doesn’t mean anything. Everything can change,” Rodríguez told Luzerner Zeitung. “I don’t know what will happen in the future, I just know that I’m a player who always wants to play. I feel good, as I’ve always demonstrated. In Italy it’s very difficult, it’s tactical football, all the teams are organized, prepared and they defend themselves.”

The agent of the 27-year-old, Gianluca Di Domenico, also commented on the situation while speaking to Rete Uno: “It’s only a matter of media speculation. Ricardo grew up at Zurich, then he played five and a half years at Wolfsburg and for two and a half years he’s been at Milan, so it’s clear that he has never run away from difficulties. At this moment there is no reason to panic: it’s true that he has not played the last three games, but this is part of football, because in the big teams there must always be two strong left-backs.

“A new coach has just arrived at Milan, so there will be new possibilities, now he is focused on the national team.” Rodriguez and Switzerland play Denmark tomorrow at Telia Parken at 20:45 CEST.

It’s time for Maldini and Boban to revitalize the squad by offloading players like Rodriguez, Kessie, Calhanoglu, Biglia, Castellijo, Borini, Reina and Suso. Majority of the players signed by Mirabelli and Fassone have been a complete failure. I still don’t understand how in the world we signed Biglia on such a high salary for his age when Lucas Torreira was available and a proven young player at Sampdoria. The salary Pepe Reina receives for sitting on the bench is beyond ridiculous especially given what Donnarumma earns. It would make sense to bring Alessandro Plizzari through the ranks or sign another… Read more »

LOL. Hakim Ziyech, Van de Beek or Karim Demirbay are better options than Benassi but we can get either one.

On another note, Donnarumma might be on his way out of Milan because Raiola is requesting a salary of 8m.

Once again I will say Milan should sell Donnarumma and get Alessio Cragno. Too much drama with Raiola so much so that now Suso and Calabria are requesting a pay raise.

Milan should get rid of these players in January.

Reina is one of the few players who have influence in dressing room. You simply don’t get how much these players are important. Actually most of our problems started when we ditched the experience for young talents. I rather have 37 years olds and win UCL to have youngest team and be at bottom half.

Reina influence hasn’t done anything for the team’s moral or results on the pitch. Milan are most the indiscipline squad by a mile this season after just 7 games. Most yellow cards and red cards. So what type of influence is Reina having on the team? I would like know because it is a bad investment to have him and Biglia in the squad and from what I know it is Borini who is helping the new players settle in the squad and he’s the senior player who leads by example in training.

We have an expression or proverb in Persian that says ” he is speaking from his stomach”. It means he is speaking without any evidence or logic or statistics. You are doing the exact same thing. How do you know that Reina has no influence!!!! Just because things are bad it doesn’t mean things couldn’t get worse. I’m actually tired of explaining simple football principles to fans here. So I leave you with a “Sorry my mistake”. Tnx

If you think he is a bad player just watch how he plays for Switzerland. In last few games he even played as defensive midfielder and Central defender + his natural left back/left wing role.

I don’t get it why every player somehow gets worse in our team.

National team form is different compared to club level. Besides, Switzerland is not under any expectations or pressure to succeed. So it’s obvious he is in a different environment mentally.

He’s not a good LB. poor defensively and offers nothing in attack. I said before that we were better off keeping Laxalt and selling RicRod who had a better market value.

I get why people isnt convinced about his offensive qualities or for that matter his his lack of speed but saying he is bad deffensively is just plain wrong.

Personally doesnt mind him as a substitute but if anything should decide if he should stay or not it should be how much we actually pays him because he isnt a bad deffender as such but he might be a too expenssive substitute to keep if he doesnt play enough.

@nick, listen to Soheil. We bash our players too much, we were excited when we got RicRod, now he is garbage? RicRod is a consistent performer and is better than Theo at left back for one reason, he is better defensively. Theo doesn’t know when to attack or when to stay back, he just likes bombarding forward. He is first a defender, overlapping is just a part of that role after fulfilling his defensive duties. Until Theo fixes his defensive issues, I won’t rate him a better lb than RicRod. Look at the teams that are after RicRod, if he… Read more »

I agree soheil as he might not be the best around but certainly not a bad player either but glad we got Theo nevertheless, Barca had an interest in aquirring him and Bayern has also shown interest in him so thinking he is as bad as some people does simply isnt correct.
