Giacomo Bonaventura was happy to return to the starting XI and get the win but said Milan have to be playing better.
Last night, Jack started a Milan game for the first time since October 21, as he was included in Marco Giampaolo’s starting XI in the 2-1 win over Genoa away.
“It’s an important victory, as the last few games were negative. It was important to win but we must and we can do better,” Bonaventura told DAZN after the game.
“Borini said that there’s mental fragility? We are a team with many young players and when there’s a bit of pressure it’s not easy to play. But we need to get used to it and try to get the best out of ourselves.
“How much have I missed the field? It was hard to stay out but I’m fine now. I missed the pitch, I worked a lot in these months. The knee is fine and I feel good. Now it’s just a matter of getting some playing time and I’ll be better than before.
“If my role is that of a team leader? It’s clear that players with more experience have to raise their voices and make themselves heard, but everyone here takes responsibility and steps up. If we concede goals in the first half then we must do everything we can to overturn it. On Saturday we succeeded but we must do many things better and work to improve.
“If the break comes at the right time? After a win, working a bit will do us well. We will not have the players who’ll go away on international duty, but whoever stays at Milanello will have to work and try to improve.”
