Yesssssssssss, Giampaolo is a genius and he is not going away!
After international break, we will lose 3 more matches in a row, BUT we will win the last one before the break again! And so the legend continues!

7 games of terrible play. If luck was not on Milan’s side it would be 1 win and 6 losses. They way I see it, Milan are fighting relegation. May be it is not clear to the club just yet until January when they see the whole picture. But of course it would be too late by then with another year Zero next season. 4 seasons without CL was the coaches fault. 10 years without CL is the management’s fault as it has been since two years. Milan is actually going to a DECADE without CL. And what are the… Read more »

Only Giampaolo will be satisfied with the win, yes a win is a win

Well, what a dumpster-fire of a match. Calabria with silly red, Reina with two horrible mistakes and a penalty save, and Hakan for 45 minutes. Leao looked great, and Thiago (via Paquetta) had a wonderful goal, though looked fragile on defense throughout. I have many calms with Giampaolo, but the many problems in this match were due to silly mistakes made by players who by now should know better. And his subs did pay off today, even though selecting Hakan to start was questionable in the first place. So we win with a so-so penalty against low tier Genoa? Well,… Read more »

There were some bright glimpses though. The only thing that worries me is inconsistency. Are we going to play bad next game or mark some grow. We played good against Torino, and then Fiorentina came…I am confused.

1. You should check the definition of “glimpse”.
2. Yes, we had moments circulating the ball fast, one touch play, from defence through midfield to attack, even though we couldn’t push further. When was last time you saw that?
3. You get what you pay for. Never forget that.

Totally agree with you – sometimes supporters are blinded by the dislike they have for a player(s) or coach & don’t see any positives however small they might be

Yeah Vallo, somethings were okay. But honestly we took a few steps back from last two seasons. Hopefully the team can improve

I’m not happy with Giampaolo’s player selection & I’m still of the belief he’s going to need time & patience to clear out the rot that had settled in over the 2 plus years but he’s going to have to be better with his starting lineup selections. If 7 games isn’t enough to finally make him see the light that Calhanoglu Biglia Kessie & even Suso can start almost every game, if any, he’s then digging his grave on his Milan coaching career

“His subs did pay off??” His subs should’ve been starters!!! Calhanoglu should be the back-up of the back-up!! Piatek will regain form in time Leao is a starter!! Bravo to Bonaventura!!!

There is no other better way of saying that this coach should be replaced immediately. How in this world you would bench good players and you would stick with players like Calhanoglu. He should never even dress up for selection not to talk of being on reserve bench.

Milan is now the team with most cards in this season, this was Calabria’s second already. This team is completely undisciplined.

Sh*t show week in week out, this one was no different.

The players wanted this victory more than Giampaolo. The starting 11 and substitutions proved that. Next match our starting 11 will be different and so will the result.

I’m not enjoying this Milan and it has been like this for 7yrs now. Sadly, Milan will keep faith in Giampaolo even after such horrible game.

Until we have a lineup without Biglia, Musacchio, Calhanoglu and Suso we always look and play bad.

We won and I feel disappointed. Smh

This is the best bro… we need to try this players this way and see what comes out from them.

Mykee

This is actually not bad at all. Bonaventura can share the left midfield with Paquetá. Leao can be left or right winger depending on Suso or Rebic‘ form. I do not know if I agree with Kessie replacement for Krunic.

We could try a 4231. We could use rebic as the cf, leao and either bona or castellejo could flank him with paqueta playing in the center. Lots of speed and creativity. We could play bennaser and kessie as cdm or even use bona as a cdm/cm. He could help start the plays as well as assist further up. Also we need to see what gabbia can do as well. He was great in preseason so I think maybe in the coppa or against small teams we should try him out

Chris

I dont understand why Giam never try to use 4-2-3-1. Hakan play really well at number 10 position last year game vs Fiorentina, and we can also deploy Paqueta Bona or even Rebic (as a SS) at that role. At the moment, i think playing two ‘number 6’ in front of the defenders will be safer than just have one person there (I very miss Bakayoko), and let weakness in physic player like Hakan focus more on creativity.

Rebic to replace suso and its fantastic. Suso NEVER to start, only in early stages of coppa Italia. He should only be a 70 min sub from now on

Beter without suso, to be smart enough and put 41212, with Paqueta behind Leao and Rebic

The only positive thing about Giampaolo is that he makes substitutions. Gatuuso did not do that and it hurt him. What baffles me is how can Giampaolo change every player who underperformed except SUSO?? What is so special about Suso that all our previous coaches never sub him out either??

nick
Guest

They are all scared because he’s their one trick pony. They don’t have the balls to drop him. Sadly.

I would rather see Rebic and Leao flanking Piatek.

Giampaoloball
Guest
Giampaoloball

Suso may be a one trick pony but Piatek is no trick pony he is just a liability Suso can atleist dribble and pass the ball Piatek cant do s**t

Mykee
Guest
Mykee

Lol! He made substitutions today because it was his last chance and he would’ve been fired if he lost the match!!! He could’ve made similar substitutions in the last games where it was obvious that we needed some technical players to change the game but he was too stubborn and kept Paquetá and Bona on the bench! Why did leao start from the bench? I still do not give Giampaolo any credits… Gattuso may have been short of attacking ideas but his defence was great and his player selection were good.

Di Marzio and Di Stefano report there are currently telephone calls between Maldini/Boban and the Singers being held. Singers are not convinced with last night’s display. Decision on Giampaolo’s future will be taken in the next 2-3 days

Yeah, I read that as well. I also read that Pioli is a possibility. But I think Milan want to assess Allegri and Pochettino situation before making a decision.

Either one would be a blessing but I doubt they would want to take over a team in mid season. So an interim coach will be chosen like Pioli or Ranieri.

Not sure who will be the next coach but my guess is either Allegri, Pochettino, Marcelino Garcia Toral or Arsene Wenger. With either Pioli or Ranieri as interim coach until next summer.

@Ted…..The latest news from Marco Di Marzio is that it is down to Spalletti or Marcelino Garcia Toral. Spalletti still has a contract with Inter and he needs to terminate it. His salary is also too high which is Marcelino Garcia Toral is being considered. Marcelino hasn’t coached in Serie A but he has a good record and he likes to play 442. He won the Copa del Rey with Valencia beating Barcelona in the finals and he took them out of relegation and qualified for CL. I prefer Marcelino over Spalletti but if Milan go with Marcelino we will… Read more »
