Mattia Caldara is close to making his comeback and could play with the Primavera team first.

Caldara was one of Milan’s biggest signings in the summer of 2018 but has virtually never played for the Diavolo due to two very serious injuries.

On May 3 he went under the knife to repair the damage to his anterior cruciate ligament, and according to Milannews.it it seems like the recovery of the former Atalanta CB is almost complete now.

As reported by Pietro Mazzara, the 25-year-old will go back to training with the rest of the group next week. The plan is to have him called-up and included in squad lists by the end of the month or at the start of November. It is also possible that he’ll be involved in some Primavera games.

Alessio Romagnoli’s partner has so far been Mateo Musacchio, although tomorrow Léo Duarte will play due to Musacchio’s suspension. Caldara will have a lot of work to do to win his place.

This is unfortunately going to be another flop, Juve wouldn’t give him up if he was any good.

Caldara was amazing at Atalanta (and for more than one season! Unlike Piatek, Conti and Kessie).
I don’t know how much the injury has affected, but if he reaches even half of the performance he did at Atalanta, he will bench Musacchio without breaking a sweat.

Nothing good come from Rubentus. The last good player we bought from them was Inzaghi….
