Shevchenko: “I love Milan but the club has not contacted me, my effort is focused on the Ukraine national team”

Andriy Shevchenko has denied being contacted over the Milan job, even if he’ll meet Paolo Maldini soon.

Marco Giampaolo’s tenure has so far been a complete disaster as the Rossoneri lost 4 of their first 6 games while playing absolutely atrocious football.

There have been rumours that Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban are thinking of sacking Giampaolo and entrusting the team in the hands of Andriy Shevchenko, the current Ukraine NT coach.

“I love Milan, but the club has not contacted me and on a professional level I’m not thinking about Milan right now,” Sheva told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday. “I am the Coach of Ukraine and all my effort is focused on my country. I want to go to Euro 2020 with my players. Having said all that, Maldini and Boban are a real guarantee for Milan, who will get back on their feet soon.

“I am here in Milano at the moment, it’s true, but that’s because I am watching the Ukraine players and after the Atalanta game, I’ll go to dinner with my Milan friends, but only because we love each other and every time we are together we meet.

“Milan remains in my heart and I am sure they’ll work it out soon.”

I felt the same actually and it ruined his career as he could won another champions league and Serie A Title with Milan. He’s still my favorite player though so I have to forgive him.

He’s a really nice guy, I met him in NY and my mom and girlfriend were really intrigued by him and Pirlo. Really cool guys.

u met sheva? u lucky bastard, u! and yeah, most milan players back then like cafu, kaka, sheva, nesta and maldini seemed like nice and well behaved guys. i met signori in hongkong and he too was very nice and humble, unlike young players nowadays. maybe lack of culture and too much internet mess up character. what i found very ironic about sheva was, milan tried very hard to keep him during 05/06, even made him vice capt, but he left anyway at the end of the season while kaka repeatedly said he wanted to end his career at milan… Read more »

believe me! he can do a better job compare to most of recent coaches. I believe even if you play our best 11 players based on transfer market price in a team. without any formation, they will play better.

Get Allegri back. Wrong decision by Berlusconi

Coach Seedorf

Coach Seedorf

@Agustina, Quite candidly I doubt that Allegri will succeed with this team. I have my doubts about him. Agreed he has improved over time but is his improvement not tied to the quality of players he had at his disposal in Juve? Do you remember Allegri’s last season with us? At a time we were losing to everyone, even a division 3 side in French league beat us in a friendly match between Dec-Jan. Juve is always favored by refs in Seria A, Allegri enjoyed some of that. He had established stars/ players to work with at Juve. At Milan,… Read more »

I remember his last season with us. I think Berlusconi should be more patient with him. It takes time to get Milan perform well again since Milan had just left by their legends. I also believe Guardiolla is one of best coach in the world. I also believe Giampolo is not a bad coach. He made right decision in substitution. I think the problem is that his words are not easy to be understood by the players. It effects to the gameplay. It is not good for a whole season.

and this, my fellow milanisti, is textbook midtable thinking. im not sure how but apparently les midtables minds attract each other. no wonder this poor soul admires giampaolo so much. giampaolo is member of les midtables society because; 1) he proud himself a master tactician, so much so that he benched new superior players in favor of jokers like borivaldo and castillejo because the jokers have trained longer hence supposedly more initiated and prepared to implement his system, as if his system’s some tai chi shit thats hard to master. yet he tucked his tail like scooby doo and abandoned… Read more »

@milan10 , here you come again. The man who thinks he is a prophet. You say I’m thinking like a midtabler? What do you think Milan has been for some years now? A top team with top management? Remove your eye glasses of the past and focus on the present.I’ll respond to your points below: 1. Your point 1 is completely baseless, how does Giampaolo pride himself as a master tactician? Show me where Giampaolo ever called himself a master tactician since his appointment as Milan coach? It’s our players and management who have been calling him that, he didn’t… Read more »

wow, such a midtable response. so, just because milan has been garbage lately means milanisti have to think like les midtables? 1) i dont say he fancy himself master tactician because he’s boastful and arrogant like mou in the past. i say he think he is based on all those meaningless “system”, “gameplay”, “unity as a team” esoteric bs he always spews in his interviews and how he benched clearly superior players in favor of borivaldo and castillejo simply because the latter has trained longer with him thus has understood his method better, as if his method is revolutionary system… Read more »

@Milan10 Let me ask u…. 1-If Gattuso were to be retained plus Leo staying on board….will the situation be like this? 2-Anytime I mentioned Gattuso then many here will scold me like sh**t….every year in year out different coach with atleast 6-7 different players….were will this take us even with world class coach? 3-initially when Gattuso was appointed I was so sad but at the end of the season, I credited him cos of the two penalties denied Milan against Roma and Juve. 4-But still some here think he should go for Giampaolo…now here we are calling for his head… Read more »

1) rino might do better than giampaolo but he certainly wouldnt win all 6 matches conte style, so why ask for his return instead of hoping for real coach to arrive?
2) look at inter now and u’ll get the answer.
3) i asked for conte so i dont even know what to say to this other than sack giampaolo asap.
4) good squad means jackshit without good coach. also, getting good coach is much cheaper. remember the 20/80 principle mate?

the minute allegri left we understood that he was actually over achieving. he followed with clueless Seedorf, broccoli! & of course worst of all… Inzaghi.

allegri gift wrapped and gifted conte his first scudetto. milan was a better team at the time. 6 points ahead with 6 games to play. juve won scudetto by 5 points I think. his last season was a disaster. seedorf saved that season for us.

What we need even more urgently is a sporting director. We could definitely use a real top notch tactician as Allegri (although he has crazy salary demands it is reported), but our main problem in the last few years is terrible transfer strategy.

Exciting to watch next match since Duarte will play and Hakan will mostly be replaced by Paqueta. Paqueta-Bennacer and Kessie are ideal combination in midfield since Bennacer is not strong at defense. Paqueta and Kessie are strong in defense. So at upfront must be more aggressive that will be addessed by combination of Rebic-Leao-Suso.

Ted

A possible win against also shattered Genoa should not be considered as a turning point and moreover would not reflect our current disastrous situation. Weather it is the coach or the team or the combination I don’t think it can work longterm. There are just not the right ingridients for success. We lack experience both in the field and by the field. This is the youngest team in Serie A, bunch of kids runing around without a proper leader within. Even if they qualify for CL somehow, non of our players or this coach ever played a CL match before.… Read more »

Hire Marcelihno Toral as a coach, he prefer 442, try to sold Suso, Hakan, Borini, one of Calabria or Conti, clear situation with Dona, he have to decide vil he stay or go, get of Rodriguez, get Caleehon for free, Menie for free, and we have money for Tonali, maybe Mertens for atack, and Atal he can cover basicly all wide positions, Donarouma(Reina) Menie Caldara Romagnoli Hernandez Calehon Tonali Benacer Paqueta Rebic(Piatek)Leao(Mertens) Subs: Duarte,Gabia, Conti, Kesie, Krunic, Atal, if Dona goes than Plizari in
