Ante Rebić has been given a lengthy ban for his actions on his last European game with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Milan signed Rebić on the last day of the transfer market on a two-year loan in exchange for André Silva, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt on the same basis.

The Rossoneri are currently out of European competition, as they were banned by UEFA for breach of the Financial Fair Play over two evaluating periods. However, if they do qualify for the Europa League or the Champions League next season, they will have to do without their Croatian forward for most of the group stage.

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has announced today their ruling in regards to the incidents that occurred in the Europa League play-off game between Eintracht Frankfurt and Racing Club de Strasbourg (3-0) on August 29 in Germany.

The CEDB has made the decision to “suspended Rebić for five UEFA competition matches for which he would be otherwise eligible, for serious rough play and insulting a match official.”
