Lucas Biglia picked up an injury during training on Friday, and while it’s not very serious it’s possible that he will miss Matchday 1 of Serie A on Sunday.
Marco Giampaolo was planning on using his usual starting XI from the pre-season games against Udinese at Stadio Friuli, with a midfield of Fabio Borini, Lucas Biglia and Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
However, Biglia may be ruled out for the match. As reported by Sky Italia’s Peppe Di Stefano, the Argentine suffered a left adductor injury during today’s training session.
According to Sky.it, the injury of Biglia is nothing too serious but still possibly enough to make Biglia skip Matchday 1. Di Stefano claims that in that case, Milan’s #10, Çalhanoğlu, would take the role of the regista in the starting XI, directing the play with Borini and Lucas Paquetá on his sides.
Ismaël Bennacer is fit to play but Giampaolo seems to favor at this point the players would were with him during pre-season, over those who joined the squad late in the summer.
Probable XI (4-3-1-2) – Marco Giampaolo (Sky)
Gianluigi Donnarumma; Davide Calabria, Mateo Musacchio, Alessio Romagnoli, Ricardo Rodríguez; Fabio Borini, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Lucas Paquetá; Suso; Krzysztof Piątek, Samu Castillejo.
