Davide Calabria has stated that ‘there is no hurry for the contract renewal’ and said the club considers him important.

The new Milan season starts on August 25th as they face Udinese at Stadio Friuli and in the meantime the boys of Marco Giampaolo are training at Milanello.

Giampaolo has implemented a 4-3-1-2 and his starting right back for the season, at least for now, seems to be Davide Calabria. The 22-year-old was a starter for Gennaro Gattuso last year but had some physical problems during the season.

“My summer? I was sad for being injured in the most delicate moment of last season,” he told Sky Italia. Unfortunately, the injury turned out to be more serious than expected and the [recovery] times had to be respected. I was disappointed not to go to the U21 EURO’s, but it was too risky.

“My future at Milan? I’m glad that for Milan I’m not for sale. My agent probably had some offers in hand, but the club told us that I’m important for the club project. I also spoke to the coach right away. I’d like to thank Milan for their trust and I hope to repay it. There’s no hurry for the contract renewal.

“Milan? There is great confidence. I’m very motivated, I can’t wait for the start of the new season. I see the coach and the whole team very motivated, we can’t wait to get started. My moment? I’m convinced that I still have plenty of room for improvement. In the game of the coach, the fullbacks are very important, with him I can improve both in the defensive phase as in the offensive.

“Giampaolo? They say he’s a ‘maestro’. Only a month has passed, but we are very attentive to what he says. He’s a maniac of details, we must always remain focused. I’m confident for the new season. Gattuso? He’s always been happy with what I was doing, he has given me confidence and has always encouraged me to improve. He has helped me grow a lot, and made me play with consistency.

“Gattuso has given me a lot at the level of the mind. Maldini? I have always said that he is my idol, I’m pleased now to worth together [with him] and have him as my point of reference. It’s strange to always see him and to talk to him, I have always admired him on TV.

“The NT? It is one of my objectives, but it is a consequence of what I will do at Milan. I hope to do well at Milan and then wear the Azzurra shirt. Seasonal objectives? We have changed so much, we are even younger than last year. Not being in Europe makes us focus more on the league. The objective is the CL, we touched it last year and now we must continue to work to achieve it. Maybe there’s not much talk about it, but we’re Milan and the objective is to play that competition.

“The new signings? The club has made targeted signings, they will all be very useful. They all arrived with great willingness. I’m curious to see Bennacer, last year he impressed me at Empoli. I look forward to meeting him, he also did very well at the AFCON. We are waiting for him with open arms.

“Cutrone? Of course I miss him, I was sorry for his exit, but it’s something that is part of his growth. I’ve heard from him, he feels good, he’s happy and I hope he can do well.”

PL clubs finished their transfer window meaning the end of potential moves for Kessie, which is OK as I see him as a valuable addition but Laxalt had suitors from PL, namely West Ham and Newcastle. Seems we will be stuck with the likes of Laxalt, Borini, Castillejo and Silva.

This will affect our transfer campaign. I also read Milan gave Atletico ultimatum where they will not go above 40 millions for Correa while Atletico are holding up for minimum 50 + bonuses.

let’s forget Correa, it’s not realistic. We should try Leao as Piatek’s partner and Maldini as back up. Maldini looked promising in last match as striker

Laxalt can still be sold, Zenit apparently are interested. A.Silva’s sale will be the most important part of our Mercato 25-30M is a must. with their combined values we can get Correra. The other way would be for us to swap Laxalt for Bonifazi+5M and then cash in on Musacchio. we can get 15-17M for him in Spain.

I read Parma are looking for LB and requested information about Laxalt and Strinic. Parma probably wouldn’t splash for Laxalt so I bet they are hoping for loan.

Mendes is reportedly having big troubles finding a club for Andre Silva.

But I am most curious what’s with Borini, there are no reports about him being on the market or having any suitors.

I’m glad you’re not for sale too Calabria. But you need to improve your defensive play. A winger must never pass an AC Milan defender like Rasford passed you a couple of weeks ago. Step up your aggression.
