Ismaël Bennacer has spoken his first words as a Milan player, stating ‘you just have to go’ when the Diavolo want you.
Bennacer officially became a Rossonero yesterday as the official announcement of the Diavolo arrived weeks after the actual signing of the five-year contract.
There are high hopes from Ismaël, especially after his stellar performances in the 2019 African Cup of Nations this summer, which he won with Algeria, while also winning the Player of the Tournament Award.
“Being a new Milan player? I’m very, very happy to be here, to be a part of this great club and I don’t know what to say, but I’m so, so happy, I’m so glad to be here,” the 21-year-old, who can play as a regista and also as a more attacking midfielder, said in an interview with MilanTV.
“Choosing Milan? For its history, that’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. I know when Milan call you, you can’t say no, you just have to go. Winning the AFCON? I wasn’t expecting that, three years ago I wasn’t in the national team and I was patient, I played and now that was incredible what’s happened, so I’m very, very happy.
“A message for the fans? Forza Milan! We are together. I’m going to die on the pitch for the fans, for the team. I’m going to be ready at 2000%”
