Mateo Musacchio thinks ‘we put in a quality performance’ last night, despite the defeat in penalties in Cardiff.

The Diavolo lost to Man United in a shootout after 2-2 in regular time at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Milan played an entertaining game but conceded rather cheap goals. While the midfield and combinations in attack appear to be improving, the defense remains a concern heading into the season. In any case, center back Mateo Musacchio believes the Rossoneri had a good test against United.

“I think we played a good game, throughout almost the whole 90 minutes. We did well, although there’s still lots of work to be done but I think we played a great game,” he told MilanTV. “Manchester United are packed with quality players, their season starts soon but we put in a quality performance, we were in control and this is what’s important.

“It was great to have Bonaventura back, I’m happy for him. He’s been working hard and today he played for a short while but he is an important player for us and it’ll be great to have him back. Hopefully, we’ll have a great season. We’re working hard to do well this season.”

Calabria and Musacchio need to sharpen up. No point if we score many goals and keep conceding.

He looked so uncomfortable on the ball and with his passing . No wonder Milan keeps looking for a good CB to pair with Romagnolli. Hopefully Leo Duarte will step up.
