Tiago Djaló has officially left Milan after just half a season with the Primavera, and he’ll try his luck at Lille.

Djaló joined Milan Primavera in January 2019 from Sporting CP, but the Rossoneri have decided to part ways with the center back in order to bring Rafael Leão, who grew up with Djaló in Portugal, to Milan.

“Milan announces the transfer of the player Tiago Djaló to LOSC Lille on a permanent deal. The Club wishes Tiago all the best for his future career,” a statement on the Diavolo’s website reads.

It is believed that the Rossoneri received €5m from the sale of Djaló, thus bringing down the actual cost of Leão to €25m plus bonuses. Through their own statement, Lille confirmed that Djaló signed a five-year contract. Through his Twitter, Djaló wrote “thank you for the last 7 months, Milan”.

One center back goes and another one arrives, as Leo Duarte is a Milan player. Only the official statement is missing but the contract for five years has already been signed by the 23-year-old.

i know we need capital gain to fund our summer transfer but this kid is one of the most talented young defenders in europe, he didnt even get a chance and we sold him for 5m which is pure capital gains. it would have been good to take him to usa tour to try him out before we opted to spend 10m on duarte. However, what is done is done, no point looking bad. Let’s hope Leao is hit in Italy so we triple our money like we did with Piatek.
