Frederic Massara has said ‘we are assessing all of these potential moves’ but made it clear that Milan are in no hurry in the transfer market.
Milan presented new signings Theo Hernández and Rade Krunić today at Milanello and director of sport Frederic Massara was at the table with the players and with Technical Director Paolo Maldini.
Most questions were directed at Maldini and at Theo and Rade, but Massara also made some interesting statements:
“How far are we in the different negotiations for players as there has been talk about Memphis Depay and Ángel Correa? A number of names have been linked with Milan and we are assessing all of these potential moves but we’ll do so with the right timeframe, we don’t want to be hurried,” the former Roma director said. “We want to look at the type of players that can really fit in into our plans and also add value to the team, who can be functional in a team that is already very strong.
“How complete is the squad in percentages? There’s no sense in coming up with a percentage in this moment, because the transfer window is not only long but there are also some opportunities which arise, both in terms of players coming in and players leaving. So we will obviously have a long-hard look on everything. But we have some very clear objectives and strategies, don’t worry.
“We’re well aware of what we need to do, we talk on a daily basis with the coach, who wants to know the players. We already have a very competitive squad, we will make some targeted signings, but in terms of numbers, as Maldini said, there is an area on the pitch where perhaps we need to have a look at things [the midfield]. But after that, we are willing to act on any opportunity that might arise and any player who can really strengthen the team in a functional way.
“If I may, you have great imagination and even if we don’t necessarily publicize signings you can still come up with some names on your own accord…”
