Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi believes Milan did well to sign Krunić and claims something is still missing between Bennacer’s agents and the Rossoneri.
Milan officially announced the signing of Rade Krunić from Empoli this week for a reported €8m and they also have an agreement in place with the club from Tuscany to sign 21-year-old midfielder Ismaël Bennacer for €16m plus bonuses.
The Algerian is currently with the national team playing the AFCON (they face Ivory Coast and Franck Kessié tomorrow at 18:00 CETS), but his representatives are still negotiating a salary with Milan.
“What kind of signing did Milan pull with Krunić? I would say great,” Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi said in an interview with Calciomercato.com on Wednesday. “Rade has a first-class physique and technique, his limit has only been one until now: the lack of awareness of his own abilities. When he rips, he is scary. I believe that at Milan he will become more aware of his potential.
“What is missing for Bennacer? Something is missing between the agents of Milan but I don’t think it’s anything big. They are discussing the details and I hope we can resolve everything within 24-48 hours. For Bennacer it’s a great opportunity, he would be foolish not to take it.”
As reported by Alessandro Jacobone of Milanista NonEvoluto, Milan initially offered Bennacer €1.3m per season which he refused and then raised it to €1.5m plus bonuses; the player demands €2m.
