Krzysztof Piątek has changed his jersey number from #19 to #9 and he will be trying to break the curse next year, while Rade Krunić takes Caldara’s old number.
Milan presented the third jersey of the 2019/20 in a PUMA event on Tuesday evening, and the representatives of the Rossoneri were Krzysztof Piątek, Rade Krunić, Pepe Reina, Lucas Biglia and captain Alessio Romagnoli.
The new season comes with a new jersey and some players have also decided to have new numbers of their backs.
It has been confirmed that Piątek will no longer wear the #19 jersey, but will instead be wearing the #9 jersey next season. Since the departure of Filippo Inzaghi, Milan have not had a prolific striker wearing the #9 shirt, and the Polish striker will be looking to break this curse next year.
New signing Krunić has taken the #33 shirt, allowing Mattia Caldara to choose a new number as he said he would do a few weeks ago. Lucas Biglia meanwhile has decided to move from the #21 shirt number to #20, which was free due to the exit of Ignazio Abate. Romagnoli and Reina have not changed their jersey numbers and will be wearing #13 and #25 respectively next season.
More changes are likely to be made before the Serie A season kicks off next month. The transfer market has only just begun and so some more numbers will be become available.
