Umberto Gandini has spoken about Frederic Massara and claimed it’s useless to talk about players ‘da Milan’.
Gandini turned down a return to Milan in October 2018, after he had left his position as the CEO of Roma.
Now, Umberto, who worked for the Rossoneri in the Silvio Berlusconi regime at Milan for 23 years, is watching from the side as Milan are led by CEO Ivan Gazidis, Technical Director Paolo Maldini, and Chief Football Officer Zvonimir Boban. Alongside them, there is also Director of Sport Frederic Massara, who worked with Gazidis at Roma.
“Massara is a serious professional, I met him at Roma. I’m happy for him, and working for Milan with people like Boban and Maldini will be a great opportunity for him,” Gandini said in an interview with TMW Radio on Friday. “The current Milan? It cannot be compared to the great Milan of the past years. There is a new project, a new ownership and a team in line with the wishes of the new coach.
“The comparison is cumbersome, it’s useless to talk about players ‘da Milan’ [players that are of Milan quality]. Perhaps the last time this argument could’ve been made was in 2012…”
Gigio-Alessio-Davide along with exciting prospects like Lucas,Jesus, Frank and Kristoff can make a solid core for the future. We need consistency and identity. I know Boban will make Milan a club that respect regulations and its not easy for a young player to reject Maldini if he ask you to join. We will be back to glorie very soon. Forza Milan
