Atlético Madrid interested in signing Suso, reportedly willing to activate the €40m release clause of the winger

Suso may be on his way out as Atlético Madrid have shown interest and have already had 2 meetings with his agent.

Samp’s Marco Giampaolo will become the new coach of Milan; he will apparently be using a 4-3-1-2 formation, and so some players do not fit the system as recently the Rossoneri have mostly used 4-3-3.

One of these players is Suso, and according to a report on Sunday evening on Milannews.it, La Liga’s Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the 25-year-old.

Atlético, as reported by MN’s Pietro Mazzara, have already had two meetings with Suso’s agent, Alessandro Lucci. In those meetings Atlético expressed their appreciation for the former Liverpool man, who scored 7 goals and assisted 10 more in Serie A in the 2018/19 season.

In addition, should Suso and Los Colchoneros find an agreement over the contract, they would be willing to activate Suso’s €40 million release clause. It was reported by different sources, including RadioRossonera’s Pietro Balzano Prota, that when Suso and Milan were negotiating a new contract, the Spaniard asked for a deal worth €6 million per season, a request which the Rossoneri rejected.

The negotiations could take shape over the next few days and more updates are expected. Milan signed Suso for around €1.3m in January 2015, so his sale would be very important financially.

why are you guys so fckin stupid and blind suso is the only player in this squad that has exceptional dribling skills are you blind??? he is 100 times better than castillejo and borino combined. we should pray he stays because without him, donarumma and piatek we would have finished 10th this season. in my opinion donarumma, romagnoli, calabria, calhanoglu, paqueta, suso and piatek are the only players that deserve to play in a top 5 team in serie a the rest would have to battle to earn a place in the basic eleven of a squad like torino or… Read more »

Yep, That would then give us around £80,000,000 to reinvest into the squad !
If Donnarumma leaves that would then ( if rumours are to be believed ) Give us a war chest of around £120 mil…

Yeah if Suso wasn’t so lazy. Atleti would be doing us a favor. But I feel Suso could stay and become a Mazzela. He would have no choice but to work hard because otherwise he would get exposed like looking in the mirrow.

40M Transfer budget from Elliot 40M Suso 60M Donnarumma 40M Kessie 30M Calha +/- 210M Transfer Budget. We can accomodate our new coach’s requested players by 50-60 M considering his requests would be young fast and affordable players. That leaves us with 150M if We can get Perin to swap with Reina, that’s 15M Budget left 135M That means we get to have over 135 Million just to replace our whole midfield aka Suso Kessie and Calha. If mercato is utilized properly, we can get one of the best squads in italy with that budget. If we get offers for… Read more »

Right, cause Chinese haven’t put +200 millions into one mercato to build one of the best teams in Italy which turned out disastrous and almost bankrupted this club.

Out of those players the false Chinese bought a season ago only RR, Mussachio, Kessie, Calhanoglu played the role.

Get a grip.

Caldara Donnarumma Silva borini and two years very close to CL says hi.
The Gazidis approach will sink us to Europa League for at least 5 seasons.

That 4th place will be fought between Lazio, Roma Atalanta, Torino all those teams have better management and an established project.

Two years very Close to CL? How deluded are you really? Were you not watching the football we are playing? Did you not watch us get humiliated by third tier teams in UEL with our Full strength Squad? The bad form of other teams doesn’t glorify our team’s bad football. We weren’t in CL fight because of our strength, we were there because of other teams playing bad. We even lost both derby’s vs an Inter that was playing just as bad. I had the same opinion as you till even Last week. I always thought this Gazidis approach would… Read more »

I like Giampaolo too and I hope you’re right on your financial analysis. Nice work!

Getting rid of players like Suso and Reina due to their high salaries would be good. I would add Biglia to your list. His salary is high and he’s too old and past his prime.

Biglia I think is already as good as gone. He has offers and the management has no plans for him in the future.

Calhanoglu should stay and play in his natural position or in midfield 3. Furthermore, it would be wise not to spend all the cash we gain from sales. Ffp is still around the corner and we need to balance the books, today I read on football italia that this season we made another – 100 million. It would be wise to bring that figure down to 30-40 million with some sales and invest the remaining money in players. I expect our transfer budget for this summer will be around 70-80 million. Which should be enough to strengthen the squad. We’ll… Read more »

Not spending all that cash would be the most sensible approach. But if we sell most of our stars, we would need to replace them properly, right? The whole 100 mil that we made this season, is gonna be used to balance our losses. Elliot is gonna allocate only 40 out of that 100 as our mercato budget.

I can’t believe the number of negative rating my comment has received. lol Lets get a reality check. Our transfer budget is only 40 mil which is being injected by Elliots direct investment. Yes 40 Million ONLY. No more for sure. The rest of the budget must be made from player sales. Without selling players we can say goodbye to a 100 mil budget. That’s FFP for you. Some of you commented that our budget can be 80 without player sales? Are you not reading the news or following Milan Finances? We are at a loss of 400+ mil. Even… Read more »

That is good cash for Suso. Milan can reinvest the cash on other players that will fit in the Giampaol’s plans. Cashing on priced possession this days is the name of the game

If Suso is to be sold, then so be it. However, I think that he is worth more than 40 million euros.
He’s no Eden Hazard, but I have seen worse players in the premiership go for 60 million euros at least.
