Mateo Musacchio is only thinking of beating Fiorentina on Saturday and says ‘we have to be 100% ready’.

There are three more games before the end of the season and Milan can’t afford to drop a single point if they want to have a chance of being in next year’s CL.

Center back Musacchio spoke to MilanTV and Sky Italia today and underlined the importance of Saturday’s game.

“It was a crucial win against Bologna, not only to stay up there in the table but also mentally, for our European ambitions, for the team,” Musacchio told MilanTV. “Surely, the win also gave us an extra boost in order to face the next game in Firenze. We are heading to Firenze with the aim of clinching a win. Our objective is to win and claim all three points because we all know how important this is.

“We know that we face a team that is going through a difficult phase but they have quality players, so we have to be wary. We are focused on doing our job, as I’ve said before we know Fiorentina are currently struggling a bit but they have young and quality players and for this reason we have to be 100% ready. To achieve results, defense is the best form of attack and we are well-aware of this. Everything is based on defensive solidity. It’s also true that we’ve not been in great shape lately but we want to return to our former levels.

“The relationship with Gattuso? We are working hard as always, including coach Gattuso, with great passion, great professionalism and determination. He is fully focused on the Saturday clash in Firenze and that is also our objective. We are focused solely on the game against Fiorentina, which is currently the most important fixture for us, and take it one game at a time. We need to clinch all three points which are vital to reach our objective.

“I believe we have to give it our all to qualify for the Champions League because it’s great to play in this unique competition. Each and every one of us needs to give 110% because it would be great [to play in the UCL].

“The fans? They always have our back even during difficult times. The amount of support we got from them in our last game was amazing, they were always cheering us on. We are truly grateful and we always need their support on the pitch and they are always backing us.

“Mattia Caldara? He is a good guy and a great player. These past few months have not been really great for him but he should just continue working hard, we need him and he knows how important he is to the team. He should be patient, recover well and be back stronger than ever.”

Speaking to Sky, the Argentine added: “After a few not good weeks, the victory has returned. It was not easy but certainly very important. We have a group that works a lot, in which everyone has the same desire to win and we know that we have three finals, we have to think about game after game, starting from Saturday in Firenze.

“The Champions League race? We know that Atalanta are above us, but we mustn’t focus on that. The head must remain at the Firenze game, where we want to win. They are coming off a complicated moment, but they have qualities.

“The Gattuso-Bakayoko argument? I didn’t see everything, I only caught up with the images. Anyways, we’re a strong group and Baka apologized to everyone. He is a great player and a great guy, we are all united, all together. Gattuso as a coach? He’s exactly how you see him outside. He’s a person who says it all to your face, who works with passion. He’s always together with the team.

“If the dream of the Champions League is in the head? No, I’m only thinking of the next game which is very important to get where we want. Without winning, all dreams become difficult, let’s only think of Saturday’s win.”

Smart answer from Mussachio. “He’s exactly how you see him outside.” Question is: How does the world see Gattuso as a coach? I don’t think there’ll be many who see him as a tactical genius. Beyond the passion, it seems he passes nothing else to the players.

All this promise and confidence should have come since . Now we are waiting for either Inter or Atlanta to lose and we winning all our remaining matches before we can qualify. Not good enough. My fear is there could be conspiracy to remove us from the race. The match between Atlanta and Juventus is the one I suspect most. Our downfall is Juventus success. Anyway we will wait and see. I wish I could be proved wrong if Juventus win the match .

I’m beginning to feel as though these players aren’t even pissed with Bakayoko after all, hence his confidence preferring not to apologise to Gatusso, I also have a feeling Leo and Maldini are also on Bakayoko’s sip. The players seem to be against Gatusso’s tactics, but only “stubborn” Baka can rebel, forget the rumours, if we w qualify for the UCL, I see Baka staying, and Gatusso leaving. I’m not in support when players show disrespect though, but I see Baka being a beast if given the chance to play in our remaining matches. #ForzaMilan! #MaximumAgainstFiorentina!
