Haha nice one, i had a suspicion that they would drop points against spal and glad they did. Torino also lost 2-3 home against Bologna so things is really shaping up for us. Lets grab a victory tomorrow and let the rest fight for the fourth spot.

We should stay calm and think about a win or a draw for milan vs inter.

We can feel inter is in bad shape but in this sort of games it doesn’t matter good or bad shape.

Roma lost so a win or a draw is good for us. We all want win but we should not be too disappointed whatever happens we still gonna be top4.

Forza Milan . 2-0 final score .

What a match tomorrow. A win could take us half way into CL qualification, especially considering Roma’s loss and the natural momentum a deeby win gives. Inter seem to have fitness issues, but they can still field a decent 11. But honestly, it’s all upto how Milan approach this mentality – if we choke like in a lot of big matches then even this weakened Inter can outplay us; if we come out like champs then we should be able to get the win. Key matchups imo – Calabria vs Perisch and Kessie in the middle if one of Brozovich… Read more »

Now, our problems are : (1) Offensive support from CRM (Kessie). (2) Offensive support from Left Side (LB & LW). (3) Playing time for Cutrone. I think the solution is changing the formation to 442 / 4411. In this formation, put Kessie and Baka at CM with Biglia and Hakan as back up especially when the team need to play more offensive. As this CM, Kessie is not needed as much offensive as CRM in 433. He can focus to box to box role. Kessie will also not have to play all the time because he has enough back up… Read more »

I am more than excited about Sunday’s showdown and there is every chance of Milan defeating their noisy neighbours…..it’s just one of those match where every one should fight till last their last breath….inter in disarray and chaos surrounding we should be able to just cross the line..Paquetá and Piatek are the ones I am curious to see….who ever controls midfield should be able to dominate….lastly the crowd at San Siro should help us out…hoping for the win and finally taking one giant step towards champions league qualification….forza milan

Can a mature, clear-thinking fan (i.e. not Raven) clue me in on how Milan have been playing lately? This derby is the first game I’m watching in a while as Gattuso’s “style of play” had become more painful than an episode of Scrubs.

nick

I’ve been saying that all season. Inter are outplaying us tactically. What’s even painful to watch is an out of form Suso. Castellijo is playing better but still Gattuso chooses Suso ahead of him.

Honestly, I don’t know what tactics Milan are playing.
I can’t understand how our midfield is setup to create chances for our strikers. Smdh

If someone can explain Milan tactics and gameplan I gladly appreciate it.

It’s my party and I cry if I want to, cry if I want to cry if I want to.

This clear mind knew that Higuain would flop, before signing him, and I knew that sticking with Gattuso was a good idea. We’re one of the most solids teams in Serie A and of course, you don’t like his style, haters gonna hate.

I just realised that our midfielders rarely go back into the penalty box. Inter have been pushing their central mids into the box, creating an overload. It has been happening over and over again.
While in our side only Paqueta tried the same thing..
I don’t know what Gattuso’s instructions to Kessie are..

Inter-Milan 45 minutes: Not a good first half by the boys, where Inter pretty much dictated the entire half (with a makeshift midfield). But not all was bad; I at least appreciated that we didn’t look defeated nor scared – the players have fire in their eyes. Calabria is a huge mismatch against Perisich, and he’s too afraid (probably justifiably) to push forward. This means that our right side is pretty much non-existent in attack. Also, too often Inter endup in a dangerous position after we press Inter in their half; Bakayoko and Kessie aren’t coordinated and in general are… Read more »

High deff and high pressure from Inter. N don’t forget, they seems preety know, wheres is Milan player will make a pass. Otherwise, its all make Milan player except paqueta n kessie, looks affraid to bring out long pass to others. The only way we have, when U see that our mid is pushing to get back to the box. Our left flank is no business in this game. Calha always loosed his ball and rodri always need an hour to think, will he pass the ball or make a run. Tonight inter play like liverpool. What a crazy second half … many things to say about it, but all and all this was one of the highest quality derby matches in years. Yes, the score is disappointing, but the players and Gatusso threw everything they had at this stubborn Inter defense, and today this was close but not enough. Shoutout to Bakayoko who was everywhere in the second half, and also to Gatusso for releasing all stops pretty quickly.

He gave a motivational speech about Milan’s history with Berlusconi. No tactical game plan though which was pretty obvious. Not even at half time. I’m pissed off right now 🙁

This Milan team is so painful to watch. Maybe José Mourinho will come in next season restore Milan’s pride. We desperately need a big name coach who has championship experience.

Pray_For_Milan
Guest
Pray_For_Milan

Like imagine the gesture on his face during that Long Motivational speech. I’ve said this a lot of times Gattuso is just not there yet. He showed that against Roma when he bottled a 0-1 lead and started defending that he’s not a big match coach. He’s limited, scared of big teams. We only grew on winning against small teams not big ones and we will be raped if we go into UCL.

nick

LOL. When I saw Gattuso sub RicRod for Cutrone and move Kessié to RB, I was like, wtf is he doing! I couldn’t believe it. All because he didn’t want to sub an underperforming Suso.

Another wrong move as it gave inter more attacking width behind Kessie who was eventually substituted for Conti. Smh

Then Gattuso moved Calhanoglu back into Biglia’s position to fill the void he created by moving Kessie to RB who he eventually subbed for Conti.

Milan did absolutely nothing to neutralize inter midfielders and wingers. Sigh. It was a complete game management horror show.

Raven
Guest
Raven

No, he removed the midfield because the game wasn’t being played in the midfield, he changed the tactics to a very offensive team, and we played a lot better, but the referee didn’t even check at VAR for that penalty.

Kessie can play at RB perfectly, he is a solid defender let me remind you that his career started as CB. Conti was fielded because he is faster and can deliver crosses. 424 but I guess you didn’t see that because you were thinking about Gattuso.

nick
Guest
nick

“The game wasn’t being played in the midfield “. Unbelievable! LOL Maybe that’s exactly what Gattuso thought which is why he weakened the midfield by moving Kessie to RB but realized shortly that the RB was even weaker so he had to sub in a player who knows how to play RB. Sounds confusing right? You and Gattuso need a psychiatrist if you really think that it made sense to move Kessie out of his natural position to play RB then sub him only a few minutes later for Conti. LOL Nothing you say makes sense and like Gattuso, you… Read more »

I don’t care where we finish in the table this season the only I know is that Gattuso has to go. Kessie at RB? His subs were mind boggling. Unbelievable.

This team has no tactical gameplan. A makeshift Inter midfield outclassed us today. This team is painful to watch.

We don’t dominate games and our strikers are so isolated it’s beyond ridiculous. I’m amazed at how anyone can rate Gattuso when it’s clear he is just not good enough. I can’t bear another season of Gattuso’s football. This team looks like an ugly duckling. Sigh

Firstly let me say, that was a crazy game. We didn’t deserve to win, when you come out looking like that first half and play for a tie you deserve to lose. Kessie was horrible as was suso. Kessie apparently tried to fight biglia on the bench and that’s good for nobody. If he’s going to be a problem he can leave, cause biglia has been nothing but class in his career..it also doesn’t help that the ref was calling everything and inter decided to play their best game in 4 months. Too low depth Bakayoko walked too much Romagnoli was nervous Musacchio played well Donnarumma had no fault for the goals Calabria played ok bit was too late with the first goal Kessie awful, sub him with Bakayoko from position and put Biglia in front of the defense Piatek invisible because… Read more »

I know exactly what happened. Tactically we were outplayed by Spalletti and inter. They deserved to win as they had more desire and motivation than us to win the game. They literally beat us to every 50/50 ball. Gattuso got it totally wrong. Rodriguez couldn’t keep up with the pace with Politano. It would have made sense to bring in Laxalt to replace RicRod. Instead Gattuso sub in Cutrone for RicRod and moved Calabria to LB and put Kessie at RB which made absolutely no sense because that only gave Perisic more opportunity on the right which inter exploited. So… Read more »

No sir. you don’t know nothing at all. You can’t say which team was more motivated because you are not in the locker room of San Siro. Rodriguez it’s one of our best defenders and he had no problems with Politano, his sub was in order to change from a 433 to a 424/442. Inter didn’t exploit anything the second half was very even from box to box as the game was played on counters and from the wings. Conti was fielded because he was fresher and quicker than Kessie, Conti can also deliver a good cross. Suso wasn’t subbed… Read more »

Nothing you said made any sense. Therefore, it’s not worth a response. Since you think I’m wrong and you are right. Answer this question?

Why did Gattuso sub Kessie after moving him to RB? Explain that.

Obviously that was a failed move which lead to us making a useless “substitution” to fix a problem he created. SMH

Raven

Already explained, you can’t understand a formation change and you know what happened smh

He played there temporarily because you cannot make three changes in a row smh.

He was sub because he is a midfielder and Gattuso didn’t want anyone to play out of position Smh.

I know exactly what happened. We were tactically outclassed by Spalletti and Inter. They deserve to win. Gattuso also made some huge gaffes with his team selection and substitutions. Nothing new there. Smh! Instead of replacing Laxalt for RicRod who was having a bad game. He substituted RicRod for Cutrone and moved Calabria to LB and Kessie to RB. Because of this Calhanoglu had to drop deep into Biglia’s position which moved our only creative player further away from Piatek. I have said this before, Suso & Paqueta do not deserve to start our big/physical matches for now. They look fragile and the earlier Guttuso acknowledges it, the better for our UCL qualification.
Samu should start ahead of Suso. Paqueta has stamina like a primivera player. For God sake this is Serie A and not some classy 5 a side game.
We need a second striker, Cutrone is clumsy with the ball and too similar to Piatek. No technique.

Martin Bernhard

Obviously we played a really bad first half but a lot of it came down to the shock start of the first half which clearly made us play shaky as it propably ruined the initial game plan as we was forced to open further up in the back. This start could have been avoided as several of our players could have intervened. I still had high hopes for getting a result in the 2nd half as i meant we could capiltalize on inter playing the other day but again an early goal in the begining of second half made it… Read more »

There was nothing special about how inter played, the only difference there is that they had a coach who was tactically sound while our own coach is only good at barking and running the side lines. I have said this before and I will say it again, The time of rookie coaches who don’t even know the basics of coaching in Milan should be stooped, Gattuso is just a lucky coach and lucks fade easily, sometimes when I look at the table and look at our game play, I wonder how we are in top 4, Gattuso is tactically ZERO.… Read more »

@Kossymilan. ..Totally agree 100%. Gattuso made some decisions that clearly demonstrated that he doesn’t have the tactical prowess needed to take Milan to the next level. We were outclassed by a makeshift inter midfield. Shocking and embarrassing! Milan need a world class coach. Someone like José Mourinho or Conte who are proven winners. I’ve had it with all these rookies at Milan. Game after game and no gameplan to provide more service to Piatek. My take on the game: Inter won simply because they have a better team than us, I was not impressed by them as a collective, this was solely an individual win from them due to having better players, more mentally strong and more ready. This Inter side is a side that was built for playing in the UCL, our team is built to QUALIFY for UCL which is a huge difference. Our team is more talented, while their’s is more ready. I think selling Kessie and keeping bakayoko is a must. In turn of Kessie either like u said SMS or barella would fit in our midfield perfectly and give us that step up. We’ve also been linked to richarlison and he’s the dream. That kid is special! As for suso, he has irritated me so much in the last two months. When he’s on his game hes a decisive factor. Reports saying that Kessie hasn’t taken his fine well after the derby and looks for a summer exit while milan are more than willing to let him go. Also noting that if we make champions League that suso and cutrone are also out the door. First off if Kessie goes barella is a big replacement, cheaper italian and better at the moment. Some rumors Kessie probably needs to leave and he wants to leave. Bakayoko on his position would be much better than Kessie. Problem solved Everton frim Gremio and Richarlison from Everton are possible candidates for the LW position. Both are very expensive. Above 60. I think Tadic with Marin from Dinamo Zagreb would be very wise. Suso is leaving also, probably. Chiesa would be a good idea but also very expensive. I think Thauvin is a improved Suso, but still similar. A right footed winger like Kean or Neres would be a good idea. Football technically speaken, I really adore… Read more »

Well to be fair Ted thats only half of what he said in the interview as he also said he actually preferred to play in the position he does in milan as a lcm. When that is said i think as the squad gets improved over time and hopefully allready this summer he will automatically get more room to play in a freer role. Glad he scored though as it might give him some extra confidence in milan. Nice bicylekick assist by calhanoglu as well not sure if it was a pass or an attempt to score.

To me Paquetta still has a lot of adapting to do to really shine in Seria a. He looses to many balls, and seems to often give the ball one (or more) too many touches. But this is normal; seria a is not the Brazilian league and playing in Milan is different to playing for the Brazilian NT. We just need to patient with him, and give him time to adapt.

It seems Milan and Inter have reached an agreement to build new stadium together. Reportedly it will have the capacity of 60.000 spectators with investment being worth 600 millions.

The complete project would take 30 months. Confirmation of the project between all involved parties Milan, Inter and Milano community should be announced by the end of April.

They are now reportedly considering to build the new stadium on existing ground, meaning they would demolish the legendary San Siro

Ross Oneri

Ross Oneri

I honestly don’t know why they want to demolish San Siro and I don’t understand 2 big Italian clubs want to share a stadium. We should just take San Siro or Inter takes it and one of them build a new stadium. San Siro is an Iconic stadium.

Rhemp
Guest
Rhemp

Because the cost to build a new stadium is not small and it will be easier to share them between Milan and Inter. Also as I said before, the city council and the mayor of Milan don’t want the stadium to be owned by the 2 Milan clubs.

Rhemp
Guest
Rhemp

Another report also said that the mayor of Milan still won’t let san siro to be owned by Milan and Inter because he claimed that the stadium was owned by the city’s council for a long time. So I doubt San siro will be demolished. Anyway, whether Milan and Inter will build new stadium or rebuilding the San siro, Milan city authority won’t let it be easy for them.

Rhemp first of all im personally against the idea of us leaving san siro as its been a symbol of the club for nearly 100 years and in my view it would make much more sense if we bought it back, yes previously it was actually owned by the club and not the municipality of milano. If milan and inter build a new stadium we would obviously cut down the building costs but we would also cut the final gain down the road as it would have to be shared between the two.
