As you may have noticed, updates on RossoneriBlog have become a bit slow over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, as my schedule gets busier and busier, this trend will continue.

For personal reasons, I will not be available or able to provide regular updates in the near future (if everything goes well then it’ll be until April). Due to these changes in my schedule, I will not be able to watch most of the matches (and as a result there will not be match threads already starting from tomorrow’s Juve game) and I’ll not be able to cover the news as I’ve done here for nearly 10 days.

I’ll be around occasionally from time to time but to keep the conversation going I’ve decided to have General Discussion threads. Feel free to discuss everything you want in these threads, but please note that comments that contain links will immediately go to the moderation queue and comment moderation will become slower with my absence. RossoneriBlog has always been something I’ve done on my free time and as my free time is decreasing, sadly it has to suffer.

Thanks for understanding, and Forza Milan!

I was thinking about this for a while. Would a lot of you be interested in a Discord channel for the blog? I know a lot of people have whatsapp which is subject to charges. For those that don’t know Discord is a free app that serves as a chat room/voice channel. You can access it from your phone or PC. Idk I thought it would be cool if people were interested to be able to chat via voice during matches or even just at halftime to discuss what they saw in the first half etc. and even for those… Read more »

Yea man for sure! I watch the games very intently and don’t really talk to anyone during a match lol. But I always take the time to get onto the blog during a match to whine about a bad call or express my opinions on a player I think is having a good/bad game. I think it’d be cool even just at half time to have actual conversations than to have to reply to a comment and wait for a response and then reply again etc. it’d be nice to have some civilized dialogue. I just created a channel so… Read more »

Did any slack jawed midtablers watch dortmund – bayern last night? Now thats what i call offensive formations 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 implemented close to perfection. Bayern mf and offense pressed dortmund mf AND defense line so well in 1st half resulting in dortmund unable to execute their possession football which build attack from the back with fast short passes well thus gotze became isolated upfront. Lewandowski, 2 wingers beside him and 2 attacking cm also combined well creating chances with their through passes, dangerous crosses and individual brilliances (dribbling and finishing). In short, bayern owned 1sf half fair and square.… Read more »

Haha, for sure mate, I mean, Dudelange – granted we should beat them 10/10, and I get that people are upset with our display as we were really poor vs Betis. But it’s the manner in which they try to make Betis a team of Benevento’s stature that annoys me. There’s no coincidence Betis are where they are.

Milan is actually more defensive after going down 0:1. Are we saving this result?
And we have players like Higuain, Suso and no serious support for them when we attack.

What did you guys expect? We played juve. We played up to par with them until the 75th. It’s not gattuso’s fault higuain decided to miss a penalty, suck all game and then get sent off. Him Rodriguez and calhanoglu were bad today. Everyone else did fine. It always goes this way against juve, nothing new. I wanna understand how Gattuso was at fault for this loss? Please explain it to me guys? Only poor choice was subbing Samu for Cutro, when it should’ve been Hakan, who was terrible imo. How? simple! we are terrible in defence. we are terrible in attack. and we can’t pass to each other. believe it or not… it’s coaches fault. if the players are good then Rino should leave. if the players are bad then we need a boss who asks for better players. it’s the team that gattuso put together. if we can’t win it’s HIS FAULT.

@Sheva By your standard and by looking at the last two matches Juve played then Mourinho is also crap. 1). Man U played even worse than us on Wednesday but somehow they managed to eke out a win. The main difference between them and us is that they made use of the little chances they had. Whereas we failed to capitalise on the one chance we had, the penalty. 2). In short, the players are just running around, no clear idea of what they should do, no clear organization on who should do what etc. All of that is the job of the coach, he needs to organize the team, he needs to give them clear roles of who should do what whit what purpouse etc.
Until now, all the positives in this team are based on induvidual play, induvidual briliance of some players and that is what is bringing us points on the table, as a team we bring nothing.

We played arguably the best team in the world at the moment and we played at their level for 75 minutes. No we didn’t create much but besides their first goal neither did they. We are terrible in defense. We are terrible j. Attack. We can’t pass to each other. If the players are good then Rino should leave. If the players are not good enough then I want a coach to have the balls to say it at the beginning of the season and ask for better players. It’s the team the Rino made. I totally understand most people frustration with Gattuso simply because Milan players look disorganized and disoriented. They simply don’t look like they know what to do other than give Suso and Higuaín the ball. Watching Atlanta today was a clear indication that Gasperini knew exactly what he was doing as a coach with tactical skills. When Gasperini subbed Duvan Zapata for Pasalic after going up 2-1 and losing Toloi to injury, he totally changed up his team and Atalanta was even more dominant in midfield and eventually scored 2 more goals to win 4-1 against Inter. Anyone notice that Juve keeps using little dirty tricks while defending and they get away with it because Serie A referees don’t have the courage to penalise them? 1). Benatia’s handball was deliberate and a second yellow. But to be fair most teams would probably have gotten away with it because referees are reluctant to sent off players early in the game. 2). In the second half while defending a corner Chielini clearly wrestled Romagnoli to the ground and then pretends to be fouled. Surely VAR should have intervened there and given us a penalty? I have seen penalties given… Read more »

Also to my points above, the Juve players clearly entered the penalty box before Higuain kicked the ball, that’s why when the ball came off the post they easily cleared it. The penalty should have been retaken.
Is this encroaching into the box now allowed by the referees, do all teams do it now?

Get gasperini to coach I agree

Milan are pathetic
Try a new coach
2 games against inter& juve where we barely create a single chance .
Higuain& donnarumma are overpaid

I had several criticisms against Gatusso this entire season, but this one wasn’t on him. I thought we actually looked quite prepared throughout the match, and his match management was quite good. But Mour current side will loose 9 out of 10 matches against this Juve – the difference in quality is huge. Both our wing backs were terrible in the first half, which allowed Juve to capilize early. But Gatusso played our best defensive pair in Abate+RicRod, so can’t really blame him. And Juve’s sublime pressing game basically choked the life of us. Milan4Life

Veria.
You can’t “buy” UCL trophy.
You need to earn it.
Sadly, artificial clubs like PSG and Man City won’t win UCL.
Juventus nickname in UCL is “looser”.
Neither they will win it with Ronaldo.
Perez said once “Only Milan can overthrow Real Madrid in UCL. When they return.”
Even Pep Guardiola few months ago said, that certain clubs don’t want Milan return to UCL.
Napoli with Ancelotti have higher chance of winning UCL, than PSG and Man City. 😉
Gattuso isn’t “right man” for Milan.
He doesn’t have clear vision what to do.

@Sheva, mate, you know I respect you and your comments, but that Mourinho comment is EXACTLY my problem with most comments here. Mourinho has 30 % of his squads faith and still wins vs Juve, ok. Would you have accepted our performance if we would’ve won? Were United worthy winners in that game, or should they have been hammered at least 4-0, which would’ve been the result if Juve took their chances? So when Mou wins a game with his quality players, despite their trust in him or not – theyr’e professionals after all – that’s fine. But when we… Read more »

@Milan Wins
You writing rubbish.
Since Juve can simply press a button and “up their game” as you claim, why did Chielini have to commit 2 penalty offenses and got away with both?
Why is it so hard for this mighty Juve to simply play fair and square?
Why don’t this mighty Juve win in Europe?
